C29 – Want a Kiss

Xiao Yu held his breath.

After he said it, he began to regret it. He had never expressed his love, but he had watched those romantic confession videos.

Flowers, candles, balloons, and so on—all these romantic elements were missing.

There were no thousands of pairs of eyes to witness, and there were no dazzling diamonds.

There was only muddy yellow soil and deep gullies.

He didn’t dare look at Cang Hai’s expression and didn’t know what else he could say to remedy the situation.

Perhaps he was about to fall out of love, and what was even worse was that someone else’s breakup was at most sad, but his breakup meant he was about to lose the protection of Cang Hai.

Without Cang Hai, he probably wouldn’t live to see tomorrow.

But even if he wanted to refuse, he had to at least say something. Why was he silent?

A few short seconds felt so long for Xiao Yu.

Just as he was about to be unable to withstand his inner torment, ready to pretend that he was joking, Cang Hai finally spoke: “You are still young; can you really distinguish between likeness and dependence? Perhaps you’re just relying on the sense of security that I bring to you; after all, I’m the only human you’ve seen.”

Xiao Yu had never doubted his fondness for Cang Hai, and even though this was the first time his heart had been moved, he wasn’t so far gone that he couldn’t tell the difference between likeness and dependence.

He straightened up: “I’m an adult, and I know very well that I like you—the kind of like that makes me want to kiss you.”

Cang Hai probably didn’t expect the little mermaid to be so bold and was somewhat stunned for a while.

Xiao Yu, however, took advantage of Cang Hai’s shock and lightly kissed him on the lips.

Cang Hai abruptly opened his eyes, and his gray pupils were filled with shock.

Xiao Yu pursed his lips, reminiscing about the feeling; so this was how kissing felt.

“You…” he uttered, but found that Cang Hai also said the same thing to him.

So he closed his mouth and waited for Cang Hai’s judgment.

Cang Hai let out a long breath. “Do you know what you’re doing?”

“I know, sorry for offending you.” Xiao Yu obediently admitted his mistake but resolutely refused to change. “I don’t dare ask for your forgiveness; I just want to tell you that I really like you.”

He had kissed him, so he was ready to be beaten and scolded; even if Cang Hai really abandoned him, he wouldn’t be resentful.

After all, it was indeed him who couldn’t hide his attraction and brought Cang Hai distress.

Even if he couldn’t see it, Cang Hai could guess what the little mermaid looked like at this moment; he immediately felt a hint of distress.

He wasn’t someone who would put falling in love in his life plan; he had a lot of things to do, and in his opinion, falling in love was a waste of time and energy.

As a result, he rejected all the people who showed him love. His friends said that he lived his life like an ascetic, but he didn’t feel that there was anything wrong with being an ascetic; at least he had a clear goal.

It wasn’t in his plan to stray to the Desolate Star, and meeting the little mermaid who clinged to him was unexpected.

But there was nothing bad; he even began to enjoy Xiao Yu’s dependence on him a little. He had seen too many people who believed in the one-sided words of the federal government and criticized him. His identity brought him countless flowers and applause, as well as the most profound betrayal.

So he cherished Xiao Yu, who didn’t know his identity, so he gave him unreserved trust and could commit his life to him.

“I don’t want to deceive you; I haven’t liked anyone, so I may not be able to give you the feelings you want.” Cang Hai said it seriously.

Xiao Yu had already prepared for the worst. Cang Hai’s reply was quite gentle, which made him unable to resist smiling.

Even his rejection was pleasing to the heart and worthy of being his meal ticket big brother.

“Let’s try; I will learn to be a good boyfriend.”

When he heard this, Xiao Yu thought that he had misheard. He blinked blankly and asked, “Can you say that again?”

Cang Hai said solemnly, “Let’s be together.”

Xiao Yu: “……”

He didn’t know how to describe his feelings at this moment; it was as ecstatic as if he had already been given a diagnosis of cancer, only to be told by a doctor that he had misdiagnosed it, but at the same time, it was tinged with an unspeakable disbelief.

He almost choked. “No backtracking.”

Cang Hai smiled and said, “No regrets.”

“Wooooooooo!” Xiao Yu jumped into Cang Hai’s embrace. “I was scared to death just now; I thought you were going to reject me!”

Cang Hai innocently said, “I just wanted to give you a surprise; I didn’t think that saying this would turn you into a little crybaby.”

Xiao Yu wrapped his hands around Cang Hai’s neck and rubbed his nose and tears on Cang Hai’s clothes. “So now you’re my boyfriend?”

“Mm.”

“Heh heh heh.”

“Crying and then laughing, really childish; your mood changes whenever.”

Xiao Yu didn’t care what Cang Hai said about him; he just wanted to laugh.

He felt that he had earned it; the previous frustration and uncertainty were all paved for the pleasurable celebration at this moment. Cang Hai said that this was a surprise, but this was more than a surprise; this was simply the best gift that heaven had ever given him.

After determining a romantic relationship, Xiao Yu wanted to do something for Cang Hai.

This was how people were; they couldn’t get enough, and they were never satisfied.

But thinking about the fact that he only had the body of a fishtail, even if he really wanted to do something, it seemed like it would be unrealistic.

Cang Hai heard the little mermaid on his back sigh.

“Why are you suddenly sighing?” Cang Hai ruffled Xiao Yu’s furry head.

Xiao Yu, however, took a bite and nibbled on Cang Hai’s arm, but of course, he didn’t exert any force.

He left saliva behind before he said indignantly, “The thought of not having legs and not being able to conveniently desire is very unpleasant.”

Cang Hai couldn’t help but laugh. The little guy completely didn’t know what the word shame was; he dared to say these kind of words when the sky was still bright.

“I have to remind you, we are still in the Desolate Star; our lives are in danger at any time; it’s not a very good time to experience what you call ‘desire’.” He said it to Xiao Yu with three parts flirtation and seven parts seriousness.

Xiao Yu understood that Cang Hai was trying to tell him that the Desolate Star was in crisis and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

But he just couldn’t help thinking that it was precisely because they might die at any time that he wanted to experience something different, including desire.

It was saddening, to say the least.

The near destruction of the Desolate Star had fulfilled his love.

If he hadn’t been pressured by such extreme circumstances, he probably wouldn’t have been able to recognize his feelings so quickly, let alone be brave enough to break through the window paper and confess his love to Cang Hai.

Cang Hai might not have accepted him either.

“I know, I’ll be obedient.” Xiao Yu rubbed his face against Cang Hai’s ear.”Then can you give your boyfriend a little reward?”

“What do you want?” Cang Hai asked.

“Since there should be no desire, is it okay if I want a kiss?”

Cang Hai pondered for a moment, seemingly hesitating.

It was true that they had only been together for a short while, and the only kiss they had ever had was just him initiating the gesture, and that had only been a light touch.

“I just spoke casually.” Xiao Yu hurriedly took back his words to remedy the situation.

He didn’t want to make things difficult for Cang Hai.

Cang Hai suddenly said softly, “It’s not like I said no; do you want it now?”

Xiao Yu froze and nodded.

“Then turn to me.” Cang Hai stopped and waited quietly.
