Chapter Index

Chu Chen’an’s eyes widened in shock. He looked at Lan Xu on his left, then glanced at Lan Huai on his right.

Lan Huai interlocked his fingers with his, the cold touch sobering him up for a few moments. But at the moment, his mind was already in a mess, and he only felt weaker and weaker.

Lan Xu could see Lan Huai.

That… those dreams before that…

“What’s wrong?” Lan Xu held his other hand and laughed. “Scared silly?”

Chu Chen’an’s face flushed. “You… you can see?”

He said this, secretly glancing at Lan Huai on his right.

Lan Huai leaned down and kissed his earlobe, and kisses as fine as rain followed.

Lan Xu’s expression didn’t change as he asked, “See what? An, aren’t we the only two people here?”

“No,… nothing.” Chu Chen’an shook his head in vain.

Like a whirlwind, Lan Huai had already pressed half of his body against him, kissing his neck.

The atmosphere began to heat up.

Chu Chen’an felt that his whole body was heating up, and his back was soaked with sweat.

Lan Xu, however, was still holding his hand on the other side, talking to him slowly.

“This is my brother’s house; why are you here? I see you don’t look too good; are you very uncomfortable?” Lan Xu brushed away the sticky wet hair in front of his forehead and said softly, “How pitiful.”

The gentle and seductive voice rang in Chu Chen’an’s ears.

Chu Chen’an lightly bit his lower lip; his brimming eyes looked weak and alluring, making people pity him but also making people want to ruthlessly bully him.

Looking at Chu Chen’an’s helpless and confused look, Lan Xu’s eyes were full of heartache; his finger rubbed over the slightly watery end of his eyes, gentle and slow.

Lan Xu couldn’t wait to see Chu Chen’an cry.

Chu Chen’an felt a very uncomfortable heat. Helplessly gripping the quilt, he said to Lan Xu, “I want to drink water.”

Lan Xu quickly brought him a cup of water, but he didn’t hand it to Chu Chen’an; instead, he stood not far from the bed.

His movements were hesitant. “But we’re in my brother’s house now; he doesn’t like outsiders touching his things; it won’t be good if he gets angry. Chen’an, let’s just go back, and you can drink it there.”

Chu Chen’an looked at the cup of water, not even noticing that the hem of his shirt was lifted.

His eyes only had that cup of water in it, and he froze.

The medicine was too strong, and Chu Chen’an’s mind couldn’t work for a moment.

But… wasn’t Lan Huai just kissing him?

Why would he not let him drink?

Chu Chen’an wanted to say something but felt that he couldn’t.

He was licked on his lower lip by Lan Huai, who didn’t say a word beside him, and felt even more thirsty after being kissed like that.

He pursed his lips, his pretty pair of eyes wet.

“It’s okay, it’s okay, drink.” Lan Xu looked distressed, half-supporting Chu Chen’an and pressing the cup against his mouth. “Brother shouldn’t mind.”

Chu Chen’an finally drank the water, eagerly drinking half the cup in one gulp before he slowed down.

After he finished that cup of water, Lan Xu also meticulously used his hand to dry the water marks on his lips; his movements were ambiguous.

Chu Chen’an dodged with a red face.

He didn’t know if the atmosphere was too strange, but Lan Xu’s seductive, handsome face stunned him for a few seconds.

He heart was still thumping.

Lan Huai, on the other hand, laid on the other side, as if there were no Lan Xu in the room. He wrapped an arm around Chu Chen’an’s thin waist while playing with and kissing the back of Chu Chen’an’s hand.

Chu Chen’an was stirred into more and more confusion by the two people on his left and right, and the sweat on his body almost soaked his entire clothes.

Lan Xu used his hand to wipe off the sweat on the edge of his jaw and said softly, “An An, you’ve sweated a lot; it’s better to change clothes.”

Chu Chen’an was stunned, subconsciously feeling much cooler.

He rubbed his smooth, white calves, and his chaotic consciousness eased a lot.

“I’ll wipe your sweat.” Lan Xu looked at him with dark eyes, the knot in his throat rolling up and down as he got up to get the bathroom towel and hot water outside the room.

Chu Chen’an’s gaze went to his back, and just when he wanted to say no, he was pinched by Lan Huai on his chin.

Only then did Lan Huai make a sound, and he said in his ear in a gloomy, cold voice, “What are you looking at, An An? Why are you so inattentive?”

Chu Chen’an was kissed by Lan Huai on the chin. He said in a small voice with a red face, “Can you not do it here? Lan Xu is still…”

He was internally tormented and shy, leaning against Lan Huai’s shoulder; his pink lips opened as he panted.

Lan Huai’s hand caressed the back of his head as he coldly responded, “Afraid he’ll see? You care so much about him.”

“No,” Chu Chen’an blushed, afraid that he would get angry. He leaned obediently in Lan Huai’s arms and said softly, “I-I just don’t want to; my head doesn’t feel good.”

“Okay, then we won’t do it.” Lan Huai was very pleased by this; his hand covered his forehead and the other wrapped tightly around his waist. “Sleep well for a while, baby.”

Chu Chen’an nodded.

Although he was scared, he couldn’t help but feel reliant on Lan Huai. He could see the same shadow in every copy of the NPC behind the scenes.

They were like the same person.

The same paranoid, crazy, and loving person.

No matter what he hid or how he evaded, they could find him.

Chu Chen’an was a little heartbroken and a little thankful.

At least he had people who protected him in every copy.

Chu Chen’an stared blankly at the potted plants outside the bamboo window; those were all planted by him. Several years had passed, and the flowers on those potted plants had bloomed delicately and beautifully.

Lan Xu went out and never came back.

There was an extremely mismatched fathead ceramic wind chime hanging on the window screen in front of the window, which was currently tinkling from time to time.

Everything here hadn’t changed, including Lan Huai’s obsession with him.

Even if Lan Huai died, he wouldn’t forget the flowers he planted and the things he collected.

Chu Chen’an’s eyelids drooped; he was a little sleepy, but he suddenly asked, “Why do you like me?”

He regretted it after asking.

This question seemed to have been asked by him, and the answer seemed to have been heard before.

“Because it’s destined.”

Lan Huai said, “A witch’s companion’s mate is born destined, and I knew from the moment I met you that I liked you. And An An, the first time I met you, I felt that we knew each other and had known each other for a long time. We would definitely love each other, and I would definitely love you.”

Chu Chen’an froze; Lan Huai’s response was actually so similar to his.

Could it be that there was a bug in the system?

Or was the behind-the-scenes NPC really the same person, even if the cache plot and copies were different?

The doubts in Chu Chen’an’s heart gradually magnified as he was held by Lan Huai.

“We’re just meant to be, baby.” Lan Huai said, “Sleep; it won’t be hard soon.”

Lan Huai’s words kept echoing in his ears, stirring his heart to beat ever faster.

He lowered his eyes, closed them, and didn’t speak again.

Lan Huai pecked his cheek again and again, and Chu Chen’an secretly moved back a little. Lan Huai’s hand covered his waist, then tightened around him, becoming even tighter.

Chu Chen’an gave up; his head wasn’t so hot anymore, so he obediently shrank in Lan Huai’s arms and fell asleep.

Lan Huai tucked him in and looked at him passionately.

Lan Xu then slowly came in through the doorway; the hot water he was carrying was already cold, and he placed it on the table not far away, slowly taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

“What took you so long?” Lan Huai said it coldly.

After taking off his clothes, the sweat on Chu Chen’an’s body had dried up, but it was still sticky and greasy, and he frowned uncomfortably in his sleep.

“I didn’t want to disturb your moment.” Lan Xu gripped Chu Chen’an’s white and tender hand, a cold smile on his face as he spoke. “How about it? I’m generous, right, brother?”

“It’s only if you don’t come that you’re not disturbing.” Lan Huai said as he wrapped his arms around Chu Chen’an.

Lan Xu snorted coldly, his tone unkind. “Why can’t I come, brother? My little in-law is also my wife.”

Lan Huai looked at him coldly and didn’t say anything.

“Brother, I’m so envious of you, if only I was born before you.” Lan Xu changed his face faster than turning a page in a book. He smiled sweetly and said, “Maybe the person An An is relying on now would have been me.”

“But,” Lan Xu smiles with his chin propped up and continues, “An An will soon be mine as well.”

Lan Xu got up, changed another basin of hot water, and wiped Chu Chen’an down.

Lan Huai half-hugged Chu Chen’an up, “I’ll do it.”

Lan Xu didn’t give him the hot towel; instead, he took it upon himself to meticulously wipe Chu Chen’an. Chu Chen’an was sleeping in a daze, and when his face was wiped, he impatiently rolled over to face Lan Xu.

Lan Xu lightly laughed in this position, kissed his moist lips, and licked and kissed Chu Chen’an’s teeth, delicately tasting and licking, waiting for Chu Chen’an to make a slight humming sound before reluctantly giving up.

“So sweet.” Lan Xu licked his lips and said with a smile, “An An grew up eating sugar, right?”

“Alright, don’t let him catch a cold.” Lan Huai covered the quilt back over Chu Chen’an.

……

While Chu Chen’an was sleeping, he felt the sound of conversations coming from his ears from time to time.

As soon as he opened his eyes, it was already dark by the window, and the Lan Huai beside him was gone.

Lan Xu was sitting on the edge of his bed, propping his chin up to look at him leisurely.

Chu Chen’an’s eyes flickered as he reacted to the fact that he wasn’t wearing any clothes right now.

It seemed like Lan Huai had taken them off for him.

“Chen’an, you’re awake?” Lan Xu sat up straight as soon as he woke up, his turquoise eyes bright. “Feeling better?”

“Mm.” Chu Chen’an gathered the quilt on his body, his cheeks slightly red. “What happened to me just now?”

Lan Xu said, “You were hit by Wu Yao’s psychedelic dr-ug; it is very strong; it can make a person’s whole body powerless until they collapse; some people die because of dehydration; and moreover, recovery after being hit by this kind of dru-g is also very slow. That guy, Wu Yao, looks honest, but he actually has the most evil heart.”

Chu Chen’an’s shoulders trembled slightly as he listened, and he gripped the corner of the quilt tightly, clearly stunned by Lan Xu’s serious words.

Lan Xu touched his forehead and said with a smile, “But don’t worry, we’ll go back, and you’ll drink a few more days of Chinese medicine, and it’ll be fine. It’s almost dark; let’s hurry back and drink the medicine, alright?”

Chu Chen’an was less worried then; he nodded his head, intending to put on his clothes and follow Lan Xu home to drink the medicine.

Early treatment and early recovery.

Chu Chen’an looked around and asked, “Where are my clothes?”

“Here.” Lan Xu brought Chu Chen’an’s clothes from the wardrobe; that set of clothes had been thoroughly wet and was now dripping with water; it obviously couldn’t be worn.

Lan Xu: “It seems like it can’t be worn; ah, why don’t you wear mine first?”

As Lan Xu spoke, he walked out of the room and soon walked in with a set of purple clothing folded in four squares, adorned with exquisite silver necklaces.

Chu Chen’an hesitated, but thinking that he couldn’t run around na-ked, he still took it after saying thanks.

Lan Xu said, “Then change first; I’ll wait for you at the door.”

“Okay.” Chu Chen’an mulled over how to wear this set of clothes for a while before clumsily putting it on.

Chu Chen’an stood up and found that the size of this outfit was surprisingly just right; the design of the costume and the silver jewelry to match were the same as Lan Xu’s.

After he put it on, he opened the door to his room.

Lan Xu looked over, only to see Chu Chen’an wearing the purple outfit. His pretty face looked even more white and smooth, and this bright costume was a good match for his soulful eyes.

“Chen’an, you’re so pretty.”

Lan Xu’s eyes were full of amazement and blazing heat, and he tidied up Chu Chen’an’s silver jewelry that was accidentally entangled together.

Chu Chen’an was so uncomfortable with his look that he said thank you and passed by Lan Xu with a red face. “Let’s hurry back.”

He still had to drink his medicine.

……

On the way, Chu Chen’an discovered that his clothes were actually exactly the same style as Lan Xu’s, but the patterns engraved on the silver jewelry were different.

It looked… like… like they were paired.

Lan Xu said that the road wasn’t easy to walk after dark, so he held his hand. The passing foreign pedestrians looked sideways, full of shock and awe.

Chu Chen’an felt doubtful and asked, “Are these really your clothes?”

“Yes.” Lan Xu glanced at him.

“But you’re so much taller than me; won’t the size be small for you?”

Lan Xu smiled and added, “This is what I wore when I was fourteen.”

Only then did Chu Chen’an stop talking; he sullenly pursed his lips, feeling that his mind had been dealt a blow.

Actually, this set of clothes was Chu Chen’an’s.

Lan Xu had meticulously customized this expensive set of clothes to his measurements a few years ago, and it was the attire worn by a witch’s companion’s partner when they were newly married.

It was just that Lan Xu hadn’t mentioned a word about it.

……

After they walked for a while,.

Seeing that he didn’t speak, Lan Xu warmly snapped, “By the way, how did Wu Yao suddenly dr-ug you today?”

Chu Chen’an responded, “I ran into his wife today, so I chatted with her for a few minutes; I accidentally touched her, and then I saw Wu Yao just running over in anger.”

“That’s so.” Lan Xu spoke for Chu Chen’an, saying quietly, “Then Wu Yao is too bad; he dr-ugged you just for that. How small-minded.”

Chu Chen’an was held by his hand and nodded along in agreement.

“Where did you touch his wife?” Lan Xu asked about the point he was most concerned about.

“I just touched her hand!”

Lan Xu coaxed him, “Then he’s really overly petty; I’ll go and give him a talking to tomorrow.”

Chu Chen’an followed him and quickly responded, “Mm.”

Chu Chen’an felt in this moment that Lan Xu was actually not as scary as he thought.

He followed Lan Xu back to his home.

The first thing he did when he got home was to wait for Lan Xu to design medicine for him.

But Lan Xu said that there weren’t enough herbs and that he would have to go outside to get them in a while, so he went to the kitchen to cook dinner first.

After eating dinner, Chu Chen’an remained in the living room.

He didn’t know if it was a psychological effect, but after being exaggerated so much by Lan Xu, he felt that his head was indeed still groggy, and he was also thirsty.

This was guaranteed to be a precursor to dehydration.

He needed to treat it in a hurry!

Chu Chen’an picked up the water bottle and drank tons and tons of water, bracing himself until his stomach was round. He touched his belly and gently burped.

Then he was propped up.

“Alright,” Lan Xu was overwhelmed by his cuteness and took away the water pot in front of him. “It’s not good to drink too much water at one time. I’m going to get the herbs first; I’ll be back soon, so go upstairs and play first.”

Chu Chen’an let out an “okay” and got up to walk up the stairs.

He was still worried, and sometimes sudden hypochondria could have a great psychological impact.

For example, he had now opened the system control panel and searched the engine for the top ten signs of weakness and dehydration.

After a serious browse, he clicked on Ask a Doctor Online.

……

A violent crash came from the door, and Wu Yao collapsed beside the door with a muffled grunt, blo-od dripping from the side of his mouth, and the front of his collar was drenched in blo-od.

His face was bruised and swollen, and a silver knife flashed swiftly through the air, impaling itself impartially on the door just a centimeter away from Wu Yao’s ear.

Wu Yao breathed a sigh of relief, his voice hoarse: “Yes, I’m sorry. I was in a hurry.”

“Guard your wife.” Lan Xu slowly stepped on the back of Wu Yao’s hand and said, “The next time, I won’t be stabbing just here.”

After saying that, he left.

The red-skirted woman watched the scene with trepidation, looking at Wu Yao, who fell to the ground with a face full of injuries. She was both excited and thrilled.

……

“Chen’an, I’m back.”

Lan Xu boiled a pot of medicine to clear the heat and relieve the summer heat, and he brought a bowl to Chu Chen’an.

Chu Chen’an thanked him and took it, blowing on it as he drank.

Suddenly, Chu Chen’an’s movements stopped, and he carefully glanced at Lan Xu.

Lan Xu had been looking at him the entire time, and he narrowed his eyes with a smile and asked gently, “What’s wrong?”

He was sitting next to Lan Xu, and he vaguely smelled a bloo-dy scent.
