Chu Chen’an’s eyes were wet; they looked innocent, and his butterfly-like eyelashes fluttered lightly, distracting Qin Jue’s attention.

Qin Jue stared at him for a long time, stifling the unknown irritability and sense of loss of control in his heart, and slowly loosened his grip.

This sudden feeling made him very uncomfortable; he suppressed his emotions and frowned.

He didn’t even understand why he was like this.

An inexplicable sense of loss haunted his senses, and he felt a needle digging deep into his head, giving him a splitting headache.

He loosened his tie, exhaled slowly, smoothed back his dark hair from his forehead, and said nothing more.

Gasping for breath, he took a few steps back, pressed the button, turned around, and left the lift at a fast pace.

Chu Chen’an came to his senses.

Qin Jue looked a bit uncomfortable.

What was wrong with him?

Chu Chen’an looked at his back; he pinched his sleeves tightly and froze for half a second before returning the same way, heading to the customer service department for help.

The customer service department confirmed with him again and again before bringing him to the surveillance room to adjust the surveillance video in the lift room.

Returning to over 2 hours ago, he, Cheng Hao, and the middle-aged man who squeezed in appeared on the screen.

The middle-aged man deliberately bumped into Chu Chen’an, and his hand touched his pocket.

“Stop.” Chu Chen’an opened his eyes wide and pointed to the screen, “Can you zoom in?”

The staff clicked on the mouse and then zoomed in on the image. In the picture, the middle-aged man’s finger clearly touched his pocket and quickly took away his mobile phone.

“That’s him.” Chu Chen’an said, pointing at the screen.

Gong Jian also followed him and stood beside him. “Tsk, why does this person look so familiar?”

Chu Chen’an looked at him sideways and said, “You know him? Cheng Hao seems to know him.”

“Yes,” Gong Jian nodded. “I’ve seen Cheng Hao always looking for him for dinner before; their relationship isn’t bad.”

Cheng Hao and Gong Jian belonged to the same company, but not in the same section; they usually bumped into each other occasionally.

The surveillance video continued to play.

The middle-aged man returned to the third floor, touched a handful of ash at the edge of the elevator door, and licked his five fingers with his tongue in ecstasy. His hand was licked until it emitted a sticky, watery light. With that hand, he took out Chu Chen’an’s phone and threw it into the gap under the elevator.

“What the…?” Gong Jian looked at the surveillance video and said, “How could Cheng Hao know this kind of person, ah? What exactly is the relationship between the two of them?”

Chu Chen’an frowned; his phone could be considered lost.

The manager also felt a little helpless; she looked at Chu Chen’an’s face and smiled, “You don’t have to worry about it first; I… will take you to negotiate with him about compensation.”

Gong Jian was also furious. “Right, Chen’an. Directly make him compensate!”

Chu Chen’an nodded.

It could only be this way.

They arrived on the third floor, and the manager took the lead and knocked on the door of room 0313 three times.

The middle-aged man dragged his feet and opened the door; his face was full of impatience and his tone unkind. “What’s the matter? It’s so late.”

The manager reluctantly smiled and said, “Hello, sir. Mr. Chu’s mobile phone was lost just now, and we found through the surveillance video that it was you who privately took Mr. Chu’s mobile phone in the lift and threw it away. Do you want to privately negotiate compensation or let the police come to… ”

That middle-aged man licked his teeth, coldly smiled, and looked at Chu Chen’an and the several people around him. “Oh… You want money, ah?”

He pushed open the door, and Chu Chen’an only saw that he was wearing all black clothes, with a heavy fishy odor that seemed to be mixed with the smell of bloo-d.

That middle-aged man went back to his room and took a thick pile of money, stared lewdly at Chu Chen’an’s face, put his business card on top of the pile of money, and handed it to Chu Chen’an’s face. “I’m sorry, I didn’t hold back just now.”

“Is this enough money?”

The business card was stained with a few red stains. Chu Chen’an looked at this strange person in front of him, and his heart moved. This person might be someone from this special group and might be able to help him with the clues of his mission.

He held back his revulsion and took the pile of money and business card and said, “It’s fine.”

“Hey…” the middle-aged man laughed away, his triangular eyes staring at him, and he came closer to whisper, “If you’re too lonely at night, you can contact me too.”

His voice was so small that only the two of them could hear it.

After the middle-aged man finished speaking, he turned around with a smile and went back into the room, and with a loud “bang,” he closed the door.

“What an attitude!” Gong Jian cursed in a low voice, “Stupid, what a fuc-king weirdo. Chen’an, what did he just say to you?”

“Didn’t say anything.”

Chu Chenan looked down at the business card in his hand, which had three bold letters written on it:

Zhou Qiangshan.

There was a string of phone numbers attached underneath.

……

Chu Chen’an returned to the eighth floor; he carried gauze and medicine to Cheng Hao’s room door, intending to check on him.

Cheng Hao had given him the door card before, so he directly opened the door to his room. He only saw that the door to the inner bedroom was half-covered, the curtains in front of the floor-to-ceiling window were tightly closed, and the light was dim.

He came to the bedroom door, gently pushed the door open, and said in a low voice, “Cheng Hao, I brought medicine for you to see if you can use… it.”

Chu Chen’an didn’t finish his words, only to see that Cheng Hao was sitting on the edge of the bed, facing the full body mirror not far away, and wiping the bloo-d on his abdomen with his head down.

There was a narrow wound on his abdomen that didn’t even look like it was caused by broken glass, but rather like it was cut open by some kind of sharp weapon.

The wound spread from the lower part of his chest to his belly button; it hadn’t healed yet and was continuously dripping bloo-d downwards.

Cheng Hao’s movements were not slow, almost not caring about the gaping wound, but instead he wiped off the bloo-d that dripped out in strands above the wound before it had healed, causing the wound to split open again.

The wound was so deep that one could almost see the flesh and bloo-d inside.

Chu Chen’an’s scalp went numb as he watched; he pinched the plastic bag tightly and frozen it in place.

Cheng Hao was usually very introverted, and he wore a pair of thick glasses, making it difficult to see his emotions.

Cheng Hao inadvertently looked up and saw Chu Chen’an behind him through the mirror. He turned back to look at Chu Chen’an and quickly pulled down the hem of his shirt to cover the wound on his abdomen.

Cheng Hao’s face was pale and he looked weak, but one couldn’t see that he was in half the pain he should have been in.

He said, “Why did you come back?”

“Oh,” Chu Chen’an came back to his senses. “I brought you medicine and gauze and thought I’d come to see how your injury was.”

Cheng Hao lowered his head. “Thank you; just put it on the table.”

Chu Chen’an carefully asked, “Your injury… you really don’t need to go to the hospital?”

“Yes,” Cheng Hao pushed down his glasses, using the movement to hide his eyes. “It’s fine, thank you.”

“Okay, then rest early.” Chu Chen’an said, then put the medicine on the table and left Cheng Hao’s room.

Chu Chen’an returned to his own room and laid down on the sofa and exhaled. After tossing and turning all night tonight, he was tired and had no energy.

He casually placed the pile of thick banknotes on the table and held the business card for a long time, but still placed it back on the table.

He recalled Cheng Hao’s bloo-dy wound just now and frowned tightly.

What was this special group in the end?

As he thought about it, his eyes began to fight, and he finally slowly closed his eyes.

What was Qin Jue doing now?

……

The next morning.

Chu Chen’an got up early, and under Liang Ruoxue’s gracious invitation, the four of them went to the restaurant for breakfast together.

Liang Ruoxue took a sip of coffee. “Is Cheng Hao still sleeping?”

Chu Chen’an said, “Yes, he’s probably not rested yet.”

“Oh~” Liang Ruoxue nodded. “Is he not too fond of being with us?”

“Who knows.” Gong Jian bit a piece of steak. “All day long he puts on a stinky face, making it look like we’re isolating him.”

Liang Ruoxue smiled and rounded off the situation, “Alright, alright, maybe his character is like that; let’s eat first.”

Gong Jian: “Hmm.”

After the meal, Chu Chen’an went to the coast behind the hotel for a walk.

The two of them, Gong Jian and Liang Ruoxue, were playing volleyball with continuous laughter.

He didn’t know how to play volleyball and followed the coast alone to a quiet area.

The light golden light cast on the sea was like gold falling on the beach, and he approached the coast wearing a pink floral shirt that he had just bought at the holiday club and bare white feet.

The light hitting his body set off his entire body to be white to the point of glowing, and from the tips of his hair to the tips of his toes, every part of him was beautiful.

Chu Chen’an loved to come to the coast to play, occasionally stepping on the soft sand, feeling the temperature of the waves, and then walking slowly on the coast.

He didn’t have much to do, so he squatted down and followed the edge of the coast, picking up shells one by one.

He almost had to crouch a little bit after a few steps; his white legs were stained with a little bit of sand, and his trousers came down to a little bit above his knees, which were very loose.

In the midst of his movements, those beautiful legs were evocative.

He pocketed the shells with the hem of his coat and looked down earnestly for the next beautiful shell.

Not far away on the yacht, Qin Jue held up his binoculars, his eyes uncontrollably tracing him.

Suddenly, his headache flared up again—the kind of pain that went straight to his heart and seemed to tear something apart.

Qin Jue put on his sunglasses and took out his mobile phone to dial a number, “Hey, go check on someone for me.”

He glanced at the person stepping on the sand not far away and narrowed his eyes slightly.

Perhaps the sudden pain overshadowed the unknown emotions; he quietly looked at Chu Chen’an, who was picking up shells on the shoreline, and just watched for the whole morning.

The cigar on the ashtray was about to burn out, and he didn’t notice.

When Chu Chen’an went back with his pocketful of shells, Qin Jue’s yacht also sailed back quietly.

……

In the dark room, a man sat on a high chair with his legs crossed, and under the upper left pocket of his suit hung a sign that read “Lobby Manager.”.

The lobby manager was holding a handkerchief over his mouth and nose; a woman was kneeling by his legs; and there was a boiling boiler and a frying pan next to him.

Between the flashes of electric light, the woman’s movements at the moment were already roughly discernible. She was holding up a dagger and cutting into her thigh.

Bloo-d blossomed with the cut flesh and ticked onto the floor.

The lobby manager looked at it with disgust. “You should have handled it more cleanly; it affects the taste, don’t you know?”

The woman’s tone was pleasing and catering: “Yes, I will; please wait for a moment.”

“Err… hiss ah!!!”

Seemingly determined, the woman scraped and scraped the clean piece of meat, then placed it on the electric pan to fry.

The oil met the piece of meat, and it began to sublime, accompanied by the woman’s pained cries of enjoyment that continued to resonate in the darkness.

The lobby manager barely ate a piece with his fork, chewing slowly.

“Tastes okay.”

The woman was flattered that she got a compliment, “Thank you.”

……

On the other side of the room’s transparent glass, Qin Jue propped his head on his hand, quietly watching this show of desire in the name of loving devotion.

He, Qin Jue, was on the pyramid of power, watching these so-called lovers in love fulfill each other’s insatiable physical and mental desires.

Qin Jue felt bored and even began to loathe it.

“You asked me to come just to show me this?” Qin Jue glanced at Zheng Yuxi beside him.

Zheng Yuxi was Qin Jue’s business partner and his only close friend for many years; he came from a high-ranking family, and his parents were both high-ranking leaders. He could have unconventional hobbies without fear.

“Don’t you think it’s exciting?” Zheng Yuxi glanced at Qin Jue’s expression and explained with a smile, “That woman and that man have been in love for seven years, so in love, but it turned out like this in the end: one likes to cut and the other likes to eat.”

Qin Jue snorted and looked at the piece of meat that was fried to a crisp in the room. “Not interesting.”

“No way, Chief Qin; didn’t you used to watch this kind of thing all the time?” Zheng Yuxi poured him wine. “What changed your mind?”

After the lobby manager finished a few pieces of meat, he embraced the woman again. “You did a great job today; one day I will eat all of your meat; will you still be able to do so well tomorrow?”

The woman rejoiced, “Really… really, hmmm! I won’t let you down. Please, please, please, please, please eat me clean.”

The woman and the man were very much in love.

The man, however, was bent on depriving the woman of her life and flesh. body, to make the woman a mangled and festering body, a dead thing that he could control completely.

The man thought he could control everything about the woman by eating her, but the flesh that went into the stomach only became the filth of the new metabolism.

A man could never own a woman.

Instead, he was humiliating the soul and flesh of his lover in another way.

Qin Jue looked at this scene of lovers embracing and took a sip of his drink, “Disgusting.”

“What did you say?” Zheng Yuxi felt that Qin Jue was particularly off today.

The aroma of the wine filled his mouth, and he suddenly recalled the person who was collecting shells on the beach today.

That person was white to the point of glowing from head to toe; every movement attracted him, and those eyes were beautiful, with the clean sea and white clouds reflected in them.

The taste of the wine became heavier and heavier, but the slender figure in his mind became clearer and clearer; he simply tilted his head back and drank the wine in the cup in one go, letting the silhouette float in front of his eyes.

For no reason, he felt frustrated.

Alcohol paralyzed his emotions, and he rubbed the cup, deep in thought.

If it were his lover, he wouldn’t treat them in this way.

He would have cherished his lover’s beautiful, delicate body and locked him away in his castle like a jewel hidden in a shell.

Day and night, he would be able to kiss him and possess him from head to toe.

The thought in his mind caused a hint of excitement to flash in Qin Jue’s eyes as he took a sip of wine and said to Zheng Yuxi, “I’m going to put more shells on the east coast.”

Zheng Yuxi: “You’re crazy; the season just changed recently; it’s a waste of money.”

Qin Jue laughed morosely and took another sip of wine.
