Chapter Index

Chu Chen’an took a deep breath, belatedly realizing that he had once again fallen into Qin Jue’s trap.

He was back at the familiar hot spring villa. The estate was perched atop a mountain, standing like a castle amidst the dense forest. Its Western European architecture was grand and imposing, resembling a magnificent yet enormous cage.

He had returned.

Chu Chen’an sighed softly in his heart, gazing up at the majestic building in a daze.

The pale golden sunlight danced lightly on his shoulders before caressing his cheeks. The playful interplay of light and shadow cast a half-bright, half-dim glow on his impossibly beautiful face, making his features even more breathtaking.

Bathed in the sunlight, Chu Chen’an seemed to glow with an almost ethereal radiance—like an angel who had accidentally fallen to earth, ready to be reclaimed by the light at any moment.

Qin Jue froze for a moment, his gaze dark and brooding. He suppressed the unease in his heart and pulled Chu Chen’an tightly into his embrace.

His arms were heavy and firm. As they both looked up at the castle, Qin Jue leaned in close to whisper in his ear, “I really want to keep you here forever and f*** you for a lifetime.”

Chu Chen’an lowered his eyes, his ears turning red as he instinctively tried to shrink away. Qin Jue’s murky tone betrayed no emotion, yet it sent an involuntary shiver down Chu Chen’an’s spine.

Qin Jue tightened his grip on Chu Chen’an’s hand, intertwining their fingers.

He had already been here for over half a month.

Dressed in a loose bathrobe that barely served its purpose, Chu Chen’an sat by the hot spring, absentmindedly playing with the water while sipping fruit juice. The mist curled around him, making him appear even more delicate and luminous.

His bare feet swayed lightly on the water’s surface—snow-white, soft, and smooth like jade. Occasionally, he would dip his toes in to test the temperature before retracting them again, an adorably innocent gesture.

Not far away, Qin Jue reclined in a lounge chair, sipping red wine while admiring the view before him.

Chu Chen’an’s bathrobe was short, revealing his slender, pale legs, which were adorned with fresh and fading red marks that trailed all the way up to his thighs. With each slight movement, glimpses of his alluring curves peeked through.

One of his legs was bent, forming an elegant arc.

Qin Jue’s Adam’s apple bobbed as his throat grew unbearably dry. He took a sip of wine, his gaze darkening with desire.

Chu Chen’an’s sitting posture was slightly tilted, and his foot swayed gently—yet there was a trace of discomfort in his movements.

After all, just last night, he had spent several hours in this very hot spring, trapped in Qin Jue’s relentless embrace.

Qin Jue narrowed his eyes, his mind replaying the sounds of Chu Chen’an’s soft, kitten-like whimpers against the rippling water.

His smile deepened.

“Baby,” he called softly.

Chu Chen’an had been focused on observing the way his submerged toes appeared distorted in the water. Hearing Qin Jue’s voice, he lifted his gaze in a daze and blinked at him.

“What?”

Qin Jue smiled gently, his deep-set features a striking blend of Chinese and French heritage. His sharp, defined jawline and the loose black bathrobe draping over his broad frame exuded an overpowering masculine charm—one that made Chu Chen’an feel an inexplicable sense of danger and unease.

“Come sit with your husband,” Qin Jue patted his thigh, beckoning him over.

Ever since that day he had gone to find Jiang Lin, Qin Jue had seemed like a completely different person. He had grown more reserved, no longer as quick-tempered as when they first met, and his shamelessness seemed to increase by the day.

“Hurry up, let me give you a taste of my wine. It’s low in alcohol—you can drink it,” Qin Jue coaxed.

Chu Chen’an hesitated, his suspicions evident in his cautious steps as he approached. Qin Jue wasted no time wrapping an arm around his waist, effortlessly pulling him onto his lap.

“Want a taste?” Qin Jue swirled the wine in his glass before bringing it to Chu Chen’an’s lips.

Chu Chen’an hesitated for a moment, his curiosity piqued. Even though he knew he got drunk easily, he couldn’t resist taking a sip.

A weak drinker but a willing one.

The sweet, rich aroma of the wine spread across his taste buds, making him instinctively smack his lips in appreciation.

Qin Jue lowered his gaze. “Is it good?”

A faint sheen of rosy wine coated Chu Chen’an’s lips, making them glisten like delicate flower petals begging to be plucked.

Qin Jue did exactly that.

Leaning in without hesitation, he bit down on Chu Chen’an’s lips, greedily deepening the kiss, devouring him with a wild and fervent hunger.

“Mmph—”

Chu Chen’an was overwhelmed, his body going weak as he instinctively clung to Qin Jue’s shoulders for support.

It was only after more than ten minutes that Qin Jue finally released him, panting heavily.

He was obsessed. Every single day, his eyes were glued to Chu Chen’an, unwilling to let him out of his sight. The gnawing sense of insecurity inside him was so overwhelming that it stripped him of reason.

Chu Chen’an, still catching his breath, obediently nestled in his arms. Qin Jue intertwined their fingers, yet it still wasn’t enough. It was never enough.

He wanted Chu Chen’an to belong to him completely.

To never leave.

If he could, he would lock him up forever—trap him in a gilded cage designed just for him.

They would love each other, forever and ever.

But reality was cruel.

There were still too many things beyond his control, too many uncertainties he wasn’t aware of. And that meant there would always be the risk of Chu Chen’an leaving again.

Qin Jue had survived in darkness for over twenty years, fearing nothing. But this feeling—this fear of losing what he had gained—terrified him.

He instinctively tightened his hold, burying his face in Chu Chen’an’s neck, inhaling his scent deeply.

In a voice laced with tenderness, he murmured, “Let’s stay together forever. Never part, okay?”

Dazed by his soft tone, Chu Chen’an blushed and nodded. “Mm.”

“Good boy,” Qin Jue praised, his lips curling into a smile. “But baby, if you ever dare run away, I’ll tie you to the bed.”

Qin Jue added in a low voice, “…until you’re pregnant.”

The exact same words again.

But he was a man—pregnancy was impossible.

Which meant that Qin Jue intended to keep him locked up for life.

Chu Chen’an lowered his gaze, feeling both guilty and anxious as Qin Jue pressed soft kisses onto his cheeks, one after another.

That afternoon, Qin Jue had toyed with him for more than two hours during their nap.

Now, taking advantage of the fact that Qin Jue was in his study, busy with an international meeting, Chu Chen’an sneaked into the bathroom and pulled up the system’s control panel.

A notification popped up on the screen:

[Due to uncontrollable factors caused by the NPC, your mission has been delayed for 16 days. Please complete the task as soon as possible~]

[Ding!]

Chu Chen’an flinched. His heart dropped when red text flooded the screen—this was exactly the kind of notification he dreaded the most.

[Due to the excessive energy consumption required to transition between multiple sub-worlds, the system will soon replace your current body. You will need to temporarily use your original body left behind in this sub-world~]

[Your body’s energy consumption level: 95%]

Not again!

Chu Chen’an quickly skimmed through the system prompts, panic rising in his chest.

He instinctively recalled Qin Jue’s terrifying expression whenever he was angry, and a cold shiver ran down his spine. “D-Do I have to switch?”

[Yes.]

[If your energy is completely depleted, you will automatically enter a death state. 001 is now generating a recommended mission strategy for you…]

[Strategy created.]

[You can check your personal inventory and activate your [Item Card x1].]

Chu Chen’an immediately tapped on the [Items] tab. A card appeared on the screen, spinning and flipping before a blue light shimmered over it.

When the light faded, he finally saw the image on the card—and froze.

It was a mask.

A disturbingly realistic human skin mask.

His gaze dropped to the red text below the card:

[By activating this item card, you can alter your appearance and temporarily conceal your identity. Duration: 1 day.]

One day?!

What good would that do?!

Chu Chen’an stared blankly at the control panel, cursing 001’s stinginess in his heart.

Just then, a message popped up from Jiang Lin via the system chat.

[Where are you right now? Has Qin Jue locked you up?]

[I told you a long time ago to stay away from him. He’s a complete lunatic. What good can come from staying with him?]

[I’ve been researching the system’s strategies these past few days. Do you have an item card? Try using it—see if you can escape.]

Chu Chen’an sighed in frustration. He honestly found Jiang Lin’s messages annoying, but still replied:

[Yeah.]

[But the ship isn’t running, so there’s no way to make progress on the mission.]

Jiang Lin didn’t respond for a long time.

Finally, another message came through.

[Qin Jue has always been obsessed with you, hasn’t he?]

[You should’ve tried asking him earlier. He’d probably agree to whatever you want.]

The underlying meaning of Jiang Lin’s words was clear—he wanted Chu Chen’an to use pillow talk to persuade Qin Jue.

That was just how Jiang Lin was—full of male chauvinism, yet quick to change his tune when it suited him.

Chu Chen’an replied: [Alright, I’ll try.]

The moment he sent the message, a knock came at the door.

“Baby, why are you taking so long? Let hubby help you wash.”

Qin Jue’s voice came from outside. As he spoke, the doorknob was already turning. “Why did you lock the door while showering?”

Chu Chen’an’s heart jumped. “I’ll be out right now!”

Qin Jue chuckled. “Alright, then hurry up.”

Chu Chen’an quickly responded with an “okay,” then swiped the control panel closed. Jiang Lin’s last message appeared just before the screen shut off.

[Time is running out. Hurry.]

Chu Chen’an sat curled up in Qin Jue’s embrace, watching a 3D horror movie in the home theater.

The film was filled with bloody dismemberments and eerie background sounds. Chu Chen’an huddled closer, peeking through his fingers as he nervously watched.

It was a famous horror movie, known for its well-crafted plot and terrifyingly realistic effects. The gruesome visuals sent chills down one’s spine, leaving a lingering fear that seeped into the mind.

Chu Chen’an trembled slightly. He was terrified but couldn’t help wanting to see what happened next.

Qin Jue, however, saw it as nothing more than an opportunity for intimacy. His attention was 90% focused on Chu Chen’an, occasionally using his palm to shield his eyes from the scariest parts.

Whenever Chu Chen’an got scared, he instinctively clung to Qin Jue, his entire body leaning into him. Just like before.

Qin Jue was intoxicated by the feeling. That was why he had purposely chosen this movie for Chu Chen’an.

On the screen, the dark room fell silent for a few seconds. The curtains fluttered slightly.

Then, with a sharp, piercing scream, a ghastly pale, twisted ghost face suddenly appeared at the window. Its grotesque grin spread wide, sending the movie’s protagonist into a fit of terrified shrieks.

Chu Chen’an also let out a startled cry, burying his face in the crook of Qin Jue’s neck.

Qin Jue chuckled, covering his ears and playing the role of the comforting lover. “Don’t be scared, baby. It’s all fake.”

His fingers kneaded Chu Chen’an’s earlobe, finding him unbearably adorable.

“Should we stop here for today?” Qin Jue looked down at the person in his arms. “Let’s go to bed.”

Chu Chen’an nodded.

Back in the bedroom, after washing up, his entire body carried a faint, milky fragrance.

Qin Jue loved it.

He kissed and nuzzled against Chu Chen’an, holding one of his hands in his own.

Chu Chen’an let him hold it quietly. After the movie, he finally remembered his mission and looked up at Qin Jue. “When will the ship set sail?”

Qin Jue’s eyes darkened slightly as he stared at him.

“Why?” He narrowed his gaze. “Baby, do you want to take the ship?”

Chu Chen’an looked up at the crystal chandelier on the ceiling, his voice guilty as he responded, “No reason, just asking randomly. I had originally planned a trip with my college friends, and I already bought the tickets, so it feels like a waste.”

“Oh, I see.” Qin Jue’s eyes darkened ominously as he stared at him, but he still smiled. “That’s okay, baby. We’ll have plenty of chances to travel in the future. I bought an island in the eastern offshore region—if you want, you can live there forever.”

As he spoke, Qin Jue reached out and covered Chu Chen’an’s stomach with his palm.

“Baby, why don’t we wait until we have a child before going? The climate there is perfect for raising kids.”

He smirked roguishly, clearly teasing him.

Chu Chen’an’s face flushed red with anger, and he turned his back to Qin Jue.

“Why are you mad again?” Qin Jue wrapped his arms around his waist from behind, his deep, magnetic voice carrying a sultry warmth as he murmured into his ear. “Haven’t I planted enough seeds? Maybe you’re already pregnant.”

Chu Chen’an whipped around to refute him. “I am not!”

How many times had he said this already?

He was a man—he couldn’t possibly get pregnant.

But this bastard just wouldn’t listen.

Qin Jue laughed, hugging him even tighter. “Then let’s work harder tonight, okay?”
