Chapter Index

The two exorcists ran, panting for breath, and when the sound of footsteps no longer came from behind them, they dared to stop and rest.

“We got rid of him, right?” The tall one covered his heart, wanting to lie on the ground to rest. “Actually, Zhou Wu was right; that crocodile man, his speed is not that fast; we lost him in the end.”

The short exorcist with a usually lewd expression also nodded repeatedly. “As long as you keep your distance…”

[Actor Wang Jiawei is dead.] [Died by sui-cide.”]

“Lao Er!” The tall one exclaimed, “Didn’t Lao Er use first aid? How come!”

“Damn, it’s that Zhuo Yu!”

The hatred between the two grew in their hearts. The Soul Hunters Guild sent a total of four people, but in just half an hour, two of them fell into the hands of Zhuo Yu. Even the captain…

“Wait for me to go out of the film; I must make him beg for his life and beg for his death; I’ll even spend all my flame points to go back to the real world; I want to ki-ll all his relatives and friends and then throw their heads in front of him!”

The tall one clenched his fists and seemed to already be imagining Zhuo Yu’s expression as he cried in pain.

However, the creepy short one didn’t agree with him, but instead pulled on the corner of his coat and trembled, “Lao San, I don’t think I misread it. The bushes over there…”

The tall one fixed his eyes in the direction of his finger and really saw deep blue eyes in the dim moonlight.

The boss stood quietly five meters away from them; he had been watching them for an unknown amount of time.

Cold sweat and goosebumps rose together. The two of them pulled their legs and ran, but what they didn’t know was that what they said just now had all been heard by the boss, so the boss didn’t intend to let them die a painless death.

The crocodile’s head opened its mouth, and in its sharp teeth, it seemed to contain a small, screw-shaped whistle.

Amidst the sharp and strange swooshing sound, the waves of the Golden Lake were no longer calm.

In just a few seconds, the surface of the lake turned like boiling water, and white foam and spray rose up. The same pale limbs rolled up from the bottom of the lake. The Yin corpses heard the call of the guardian, and although they were fearful, they also abided by the laws of the Golden Lake, scrambling to swim out of the water and continuously crawling towards the shore in twisted postures.

A large amount of sediment was stirred up, and the clear lake water became turbid, forming countless dark surges and eddies.

Under the moonlight, thousands of corpses crawled up to the shore, sniffing the air; their dead eyes were filled with the desire and pursuit of blo-od; and their fingertips, stripped of their fingernails, were so excited that they couldn’t stop shaking.

Immediately, they caught the scent of the living.

The Yin corpses howled shrilly as they surged towards the exorcists, and this time, the church’s holy water finally had an effect.

The tall man was holding a holy water gun and kept splashing it at the Yin corpses. Once the Yin corpses were contaminated with this holy liquid, it was like being splashed with thick sulfuric acid as they emitted smoke; even their shrill howls changed their tone, becoming extreme pain and fear before death.

But there were simply too many Yin corpses; the number of monsters here had far exceeded imagination, and their stock was far from enough.

Even though the two of them were knowledgeable and experienced, they were almost scared out of their wits by this group of Yin corpses that were even more disgusting than zombies.

The shorter one even took out a holy water bottle and smashed it out, but their holy water had already reached its end. The two of them were helpless and could only use their last trump card.

An exquisitely crafted M1911 hand g-un appeared out of thin air, with his hands loosely holding it. The g-un body was full of mechanical beauty, and with the sound of crackling, the surrounding Yin corpses kept falling, and the bullet holes on their bodies emitted smoke similar to those that were stained with holy water.

This was a weapon that he had exchanged for a thousand flame points; the bullets carried spiritual damage, but it was also really expensive; every shot fired represented another ten points to be subtracted from the flame points he had accumulated.

When the flame point was completely zero, the g-un would have no more ammunition.

The two of them desperately fled towards the exit of the dense forest under fire suppression. The forest was very difficult to walk through with its thick foliage and dark rocky ground, but it was nothing to the group of Yin corpses, so the taller one planned to run towards the open lake, allowing the Yin corpses to fall into the holy water/thunder formation that they had set up earlier.

The sharp swooshing sound was still ringing, and the screw whistle was like a trumpet urging the Yin corpses to move. It was as if these flailing corpses had gone berserk under the sound waves; their speed and strength surprisingly increased to the next level.

Soon, the taller priest’s robes were torn, and countless bl-ood-seeping wounds were left on the two men’s bodies. The bullets poured out even more frequently, and the exorcist’s expression was darkened.

The flame points… he had worked so hard to save it!

The two of them threw themselves together and violently rushed out of the dense forest, almost rolling and crawling to fall to the shore of the lake. The crackling holy water traps burst one after another, and coupled with the output of the bullets, the group of Yin corpses finally appeared to be tired, and it was difficult to outflank the duo any longer.

“Hahahahaha, you monsters, come on if you have the guts.” The tall exorcist was ecstatic, a hideous expression crawling across his cheeks once again.

But the tall man wearing a crocodile head seemed to have been waiting for a long time, accurately calculating their escape route and landing point. He was more of a hunter than the exorcists.

The exorcist’s smile froze on his face as he hastily picked up his g-un and rushed to shoot at the boss without thinking.

Although it was a spiritual bullet, it also had the power of a normal g-un. A bullet hole appeared on BOSS’s body; his heart, limbs, and abdominal cavity were all covered with wounds; if it were a normal person, they would’ve already been crushed.

However, the boss didn’t feel any pain; he dug out the bullet from the wound and just played with it for a while in front of the exorcist, then pinched the bullet in his fingertips like a marble.

With a swoosh, the bullet was ejected by a huge force, coming straight towards its owner like a stream of light, embedding itself dead center into the exorcist’s eye socket.

The exorcist couldn’t dodge in time, and just like that, one of his eyeballs was nullified by the boss’s gentle flick.

“Ahhhhhh!!! My eye! My eye!!!”

He screamed and covered his left eye; blo-od kept overflowing from his fingers, and physiological tears dripped from his right eye. He couldn’t see anything else; he could only frantically shoot everywhere; even his teammate innocently took several shots and fled back to the forest in fear.

But the tall exorcist was already crazy; he couldn’t care about that much; he just kept pulling the trigger.

There was a click.

He ran out of bullets.

The boss took a step forward.

The exorcist who heard the footsteps was like a scared bird; he covered his eyes and fled haphazardly, but he was even tripped by the stone behind his feet and tumbled backwards in a mess. Behind him was the embankment of the Golden Lake.

The exorcist fell into the water, struggled desperately, and blo-od seeped into the lake, so the surrounding corpses were excited to the extreme and pounced back into the lake.

Soon, a corpse grabbed his arm and dragged him into the center of the lake.

There was a huge vortex there, with countless nether corpses surrounding it, as if waiting for some kind of ceremony.

“Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… It hurts! It hurts!” He couldn’t help but cry out in pain as he choked on the water, but the pain didn’t originate from his eye but from his exposed skin.

In the whirlpool, the mud and sand mixed with shell fragments kept sweeping over his body, cutting out a tiny wound. The smell of blo-od spread out, and hundreds of Yin corpses swam around the whirlpool with strange cries, like they were trying to increase the vortex.

They really did it, too.

The whirlpool was getting bigger and bigger, almost like a big mouth of the Golden Lake, and those mud, rocks, and shells were the teeth of the Golden Lake. The water in the lake became more and more turbid, mixed with scarlet blo-od. The flesh of the exorcist was continuously chipped away, just like it was in a meat grinder.

After a few moments, the lake suddenly regained its calm, and when the vortex dissipated, a ghastly white skeleton floated up.

[Actor Guan Zhi is dead.] [Died from live cuts.]

The audience, which witnessed this, fell silent.

[I want to vomit. Did you guys see the way his body was cut out of his bones a little bit in the lake water? Even Fatal Bend is nothing like this.]

[Good Lord! Plasma film lovers can finally rejoice.]

[I really threw up. Shit.]

[Let me calm down. Don’t you guys think Zhuo Yu is scary too?]

[Yeah, an actor who has a boss’s aura single-handedly k-illed two exorcists; obviously he didn’t use blo-ody means, but it just sends chills down my spine.]

[I’m going to have nightmares today.]

[My goodness, this is the Soul Hunters Union, and they’re actually going to be reunited so soon.]

[Ma Yuanan died a good death; seeing as how he’s screwed over countless newcomers, this is retribution.]

[Zhuo Yu has offended the union.]

[Do you think Zhuo Yu will be afraid of Soul Hunters? He also wants to build a actors’ union!]

[Damn, if I had been chosen as an actor, I would have really wanted to try.]

[Crazy, right?!]

Staring at the ghostly screen, Luo Musheng at this time also just calmed down the urge to vomit. As an analyst, he forced himself to watch those blo-ody images and then made revisions to the notes of the boss and Zhuo Yu.

Zhuo Yu, this person, really was an unapologetic lunatic, and the more rational and calm the lunatic, the more terrifying.

He really wasn’t afraid of the Soul Hunters’s retaliation, and judging from his expression, he was even kind of looking forward to it.

Luo Musheng now suspected that Zhuo Yu had written about the excitement he wanted to experience in his horror novels, and the guy was enjoying himself!

“He’ll definitely become the star of the film set.” Luo Musheng opened the private chat channel.

[Sister, your brother is going to be out next.]

[Are you looking for Zhuo Yu to play?]

[As expected of you, you guessed it so easily that I can’t miss the chance to be a union patriarch.]

[You’ll die if you’re with a crazy person.]

[What’s so scary about dying? It’s not like I haven’t died before.]

As a veteran actor who had returned to the source and had been forged by the flames, Luo Musheng pushed his glasses. “What’s more terrifying than death is ignorance.”

He was convinced that following Zhuo Yu would definitely allow him to find the truth of the infinite film set.

This wasn’t intuition, but certainty.

On the screen, Zhuo Yu was enjoying the moon. In the real world, there was no moon this big and round; if there was, it would probably have triggered a tidal wave tsunami long ago.

The exorcists were no longer a problem; all that was left was the church in Spring Town.

Mayor Marcus, it was time to atone for your sins.

He smiled at the shivering, short exorcist in Asha’s hands. “You must have pagers, right? I assume Mayor Marcus wanted you to immediately tell him the happy news.”

The exorcist nodded in horror.

“The evil of the Golden Lake has been eradicated by you.” Zhuo Yu patted the exorcist on the shoulder and said, “It’s time to invite everyone to rejoice, don’t you think, exorcist sir?”

Marcus, the families of the four students, and everyone else who had been involved in the Golden Lake incident.

He wouldn’t spare any of them.
