C61 — The Identity of Each
by UntamedSLate at night, the two bodybuilding tailors got together to discuss.
“This king can’t do it. I told him to eat less, and he sneaks out in the middle of the night to eat meat. I told him to work out, and his guards almost hacked me to death, saying that I don’t respect the king.”
“If he’s not thin, how can we make clothes that please him with his fat face?”
“I guess I’ll have to go back to my old job.”
“Well, I was going to quit cheating.”
“Me too; I’ve been working out for it.”
“Too bad the king didn’t give us a chance.”
The two con artists who were originally converted into fitness instructors had no choice but to return to the path of conning people.
The princess in the high tower heard this with a satisfied smile and told her fiancé, Prince He Fei, about it.
“Hurry, hurry,” He Fei anxiously shouted to Mu Sichen. “I don’t know what happened, but the story is finally back on track. At the rate this book is turning pages, I estimate that a few more breaths and we’ll be at that point in the parade.”
Mu Sichen rubbed his brow. “This pace of having to walk through all the plots in an hour is exhausting.”
Obviously less than an hour had passed, but he had to analyze the plot, study the purpose of each character, and make plans accordingly.
Just after analyzing the countermeasures with He Fei, He Fei disappeared with a swish. He came to the Princess’s tower with the pages of the plot, and after discussing with the Princess for a while, he came back to Mu Sichen with a swish, as if he had mastered the ability of instantaneous transfer! The two of them analyzed the identity of each person.
The two of them had only analyzed the identity of each person, but it was about to be the grand finale; they hadn’t thought of a good countermeasure!
“The princess asked me to steal the blue belt; should I give it to her?” He Fei asked.
“No,” Mu Sichen said as he covered the belt.
A small claw poked out of the belt under his palm and scratched Mu Sichen’s palm.
“You don’t have to give it up, ah, but the princess…”
“Will she not act without the belt?” Mu Sichen interrupted He Fei, “Does the princess want the belt, or do you want it?”
“The princess definitely wants to take action; it’s just that she has a better chance of winning with the belt; even without the belt, she has arranged for someone to reveal the true colors of the king’s new clothes.” He Fei said with some embarrassment, “I am also strange; how did I see your belt at a glance? I admired it at first glance.”
“It seems that after being contaminated, some traces will remain.” Mu Sichen lamented.
“Contaminated …… I remember you saying that I had been polluted by the power of the moon and lost my view of time; could it be that the moon’s pollution is related to your belt?” He Fei exclaimed.
“No,” Mu Sichen sighed helplessly. “The matter of the belt, wait until we go back, and I’ll explain it to you. What about you? Have you figured out what your skills actually are?”
“I figured it out! I studied it on the way to the palace.” He Fei took out his g-un and said, “It’s ‘Concentration’; in fact, the reason why the power of the bullet is so great is that the speed and explosiveness bring all the power together at one point, that is, ‘Concentration’.”
Mu Sichen said thoughtfully, “Concentration… is also a kind of transfer, a kind of directional transfer. With this ability, our plan will go much smoother. How many energy points do you consume to use the ability once? Is it enough to use it once?”
“Enough!” He Fei said, “This ability of mine unexpectedly consumes less energy.”
Mu Sichen nodded. “Looks like we’ll be good to go after a few pages! Come here, let’s review the plan one more time before the pages turn.”
The two of them discussed the plan this way and that and had just finalized things when they heard the maid outside shouting, “Queen, the king is here, wearing new clothes.”
As soon as He Fei heard this, he knew that the main event had come; nodding to Mu Sichen, he said, “Stabilize the king and the maids; I’ll go and coax the princess. Before we act, we must make sure that not a drop of water escapes from under our eyes, and we can’t be caught by them discovering our plan. I hope everything goes well!”
He Fei shook his fist at Mu Sichen and jumped out the window to find the princess.
Mu Sichen gazed at the open window and smiled, “Indeed, I hope everything can go well.”
The octopus belt tickled his backside, seemingly realizing the power of a tentacle hidden there.
Mu Sichen pinched the octopus girdle and warned, “Our plan is already perfect; you’re not allowed to make a move when the time comes; you only have five tentacles left; any less and you won’t be cute.”
The octopus girdle protested and slapped his palm. Mu Sichen ignored it and said aloud to the maid outside, “Invite the king in.”
As soon as the door opened, a man in large pants and a beer belly walked in. He proudly raised his arms and said to Mu Sichen, “Queen, look at me, how are my clothes?”
Mu Sichen was really shocked and felt a bit irritated; he asked back, “Your clothes?”
The king pointed to his chest and said, “Of course, this is the most amazing and handsome clothes in the world made by those two famous tailors; only smart people can see these clothes, stupid people can’t.”
In order to go through the plot, Mu Sichen lightly showed a smile and said in a rare soft voice, “King, I’ve never seen you look so handsome; it’s as if I’ve seen the elegance of your youth.”
“The Queen is truly a wise and intelligent person! I am so happy. Tomorrow I am going to wear these clothes and display them to the people so they can see how majestic and handsome their king is. When the display is over, I will definitely take care of the affairs of the state every day.”
After saying this, the king happily stroked his moustache and left the queen’s room.
“The plot is about to start; I need to change my clothes as well.” Mu Sichen took off the cumbersome corseted skirt on her body and said to the maid, “Find me a horse riding outfit that’s easy to move around in; on the day of the parade, I’m going to follow the king on horseback.”
“Yes.” The maid bought a lightweight dress and flat boots that were easy to move around in and helped Mu Sichen put them on.
While dressing, Mu Sichen asked offhandedly, “Do you think the king’s clothes look good?”
The maid’s hand on the octopus belt paused; still without emotion, she responded, “Smart people think it looks good.”
Mu Sichen snatched back the belt and looked at her critically.
Her eyes swept over the belt, her head lowering more and more as she said under Mu Sichen’s line of sight, “But I’m just a coarse and stupid servant.”
“In this world, people who are willing to admit their stupidity are the ones who are truly awake.” Mu Sichen said meaningfully.
He tied the blue belt around the waist of his riding outfit, and the maid reminded him, “Your Majesty, this dress doesn’t fit a blue belt.”
“But I like this belt, and I don’t intend to give it up to you.” Mu Sichen said meaningfully, “Unless you have the ability to snatch it away.”
He had just finished dressing and straightening his bowtie when the scene shifted and Mu Sichen sat on a horse with a swish, and slightly in front of him, half a horse’s length ahead of him, was the king parading around on horseback in his big pants.
The maid and He Fei followed Mu Sichen on both sides on foot.
There was a gorgeous carriage behind Mu Sichen’s right, and He Fei opened his mouth and said to him wordlessly, “Princess.”
Mu Sichen heard the story’s voice-over at this point: “Originally, the Queen didn’t allow the Princess to participate in the parade display, but because the rumors of the wicked Queen abusing the Princess in the city were too fierce, in order to calm the people’s doubts, the Queen arranged a beautiful dresse for the Princess and allowed the Princess to participate in the parade along with her. Of course, to prevent the princess from speaking out of turn, the queen poisoned the princess. But how could the queen know that the handsome prince had already detoxified the princess?”
No wonder the princess sang and spread rumors; it was just to fit the plot and appear on the page of the parade.
Mu Sichen looked up at the sky; the sun was shining brightly; even if Shen Jiyue’s dependents were here, their power should be limited.
This was the first time that Mu Sichen had plotted to deal with Shen Jiyue; not knowing if he could succeed, he clenched the reins somewhat nervously.
He Fei noticed his movements and patted his roommate’s hand soothingly, making a gu-n gesture pointing to the sky, and then pointing to the attendants and the king.
He Fei was telling Mu Sichen that when the time came, he would shoot the bullets into the sky to keep the people’s eyes focused on the sky.
This would divert the public’s attention and curiosity, weakening the power of the Pillar. The two of them would take advantage of this moment; Mu Sichen would attack the closest maid, while He Fei would hold back the king and stall for Mu Sichen.
After the two of them successfully took half of the “pillar” against the Simple Pupil Dependent, they’d deal with the relaxed princess.
The princess must not have thought that they had guessed that she was Shen Jiyue’s dependent; she wanted to take advantage of their most relaxed time to strike, k-illing both of them.
But they had already predicted the princess’s prediction and would act before her to seize the other half of the “pillar.”.
It was a one-two punch.
He Fei patted on his chest and told Mu Sichen, ‘Don’t worry, leave it to me. We are good brothers sleeping in the same dormitory.’.
Mu Sichen smiled with relief, and his hand slowly loosened the reins.
The parade quickly walked to the square; the king climbed off his horse with the help of his guards and stood in the center of the square.
A group of people looked at the king with questioning eyes.
The king stroked his moustache in satisfaction, and behind him a minister who looked like a sycophant, holding a loudhailer, was about to present to the people the charlatan’s theory that “only the wise can see the clothes.”.
All eyes were on the king.
The time had come!
He Fei pulled something out of his pocket, shielded it with his handkerchief so that no one would see it, and shot it into the sky.
A shiny object flew up into the sky, and the populace subconsciously looked up, their eyes drawn to it.
The king standing on the stage frowned slightly.
“Action!” He said it excitedly.
He rushed towards the king in the center of the square with quick steps.
At the same time, the maid’s hand reached out to Mu Sichen.
And Mu Sichen’s hand made a move in the void, and a crossaxe appeared in his palm. He swung the crossaxe with force and smashed it fiercely behind He Fei, who was lunging at the king.
And the maid smoothly drew away the blue belt, which transformed into a totem and wrapped it around her arms.
The maid was suddenly like a god, pulling out two daggers from under her long skirt, her feet stomped hard on the ground, and she jumped out hundreds of meters in a single leap, directly leaping over the square.
The king was shocked as a pillar of light appeared at his side, but there was only a pillar of light, not a totem, as the eyes of the populace were still focused on the shiny object in the sky.
The maid descended from the sky, her body guarded by countless invisible arms around her, and her hands were possessed by two tentacles that erupted with extreme strength.
She ruthlessly stabbed the two daggers into the king’s eyes.
On the other side, He Fei climbed up and said to Mu Sichen, “Mu Sichen, what are you doing?”
“It’s you that I’m beating, Shen Jiyue!” Mu Sichen nonchalantly swung his crossaxe again, smashing it heavily on the back of “He Fei’s” head.
A hint of malice flashed in He Fei’s eyes as he pulled out the mirror-smooth shield from his backpack and aimed it at Mu Sichen.
But even when Mu Sichen hit “He Fei’s back” for the first time, he had already distorted the shield so much that it could hardly reflect the light anymore.
The crossaxe, together with the shield, hit He Fei’s head so hard that it looked like something had shattered on his body, and countless rays of light escaped in all directions.
The appearance of He Fei disappeared with the light. Behind the light, there was a man in a suit who looked exactly like Shen Jiyue.
He showed the same gentle but somewhat surprised smile as Shen Jiyue and looked at Mu Sichen unexpectedly. “How did you find out it was me? I thought you trusted this roommate.”
“I do,” Mu Sichen said coldly. “It’s because I believe him that I’m even more certain that with his IQ, he wouldn’t be able to think of something that complicated.”
If He Fei was able to see through who the Simple Pupil Dependent was and who Shen Jiyue was, then he wouldn’t have been embarrassed by just ten books in an hour and a half.
It wasn’t that Mu Sichen belittled He Fei’s intelligence, but He Fei wasn’t good at this.
Once suspicion arose, doubts became numerous.
Since Mu Sichen himself could avoid His power as much as possible because of the fear of Shen Jiyue, then for He Fei, who had been contaminated by Shen Jiyue once, how could there not be traces of Shen Jiyue left in the mind?
Mu Sichen’s sentence ‘It seems that after being polluted, there will be some traces left on the soul’ didn’t refer to He Fei being polluted by Qin Zu, but rather by Shen Jiyue.
Every prop in the story wasn’t for nothing; He Fei’s antidote was for the princess, and then the shield that was like a mirror was reserved for who?
Apparently it was reserved for He Fei himself.
This was the only mirror left in the kingdom, the only prop that could be used to perform Shen Jiyue’s ability.
With He Fei carrying such a shield and meeting with a princess who might be Shen Jiyue from time to time, it really made people wonder if he would be contaminated again.
“I thought I had faked it perfectly.” Shen Jiyue gently spread his hands.
“It was perfect, the same as it was in the sanatorium, giving me information, making me trust you, rely on you, and see you as a teammate.” Mu Sichen smiled and said, “The two times felt so similar, and the times were so close together, it was hard for me not to think back.”
Mu Sichen took out a self-sticker and stuck it directly onto the crossaxe to enhance the weapon’s power.
He wanted to get rid of Shen Jiyue’s dependent here.
“Wait, don’t you care where your friend is? Aren’t you afraid that the maid incarnated by the Simple Pupil Dependent will attack you? She’s the one who robbed you of your ‘Human Guardian’.” Shen Jiyue said calmly with a smile on his face.
“For the maid, if she hadn’t paid attention to the octopus belt even more than the king, I would have almost misunderstood her.” Mu Sichen said.
Every time the maid changed her expression, it was after Mu Sichen mentioned the octopus. While changing Mu Sichen’s clothes, she tried to steal the octopus belt countless times.
She had no good feelings towards the mirror and hated the king, and every day she urged the queen to destroy the mirror to deal with the king’s bullying of the princess.
The maid’s hostility towards both the Simple Pupil dependent and Shen Jiyue was obvious and calm and sensible, and the only thing that could make her change her expression was the octopus belt.
She was Qin Zu’s dependent, the original owner of the octopus belt.
Although he didn’t know what caused her to lose Qin Zu’s power, she was still strong enough to lurk in the story and fight against the two evil god’s dependents.
Mu Sichen: “Your purpose is simple; the maid would be dealt with by me, and I would lose both of Qin Zu’s dependents. The king will be yours, and you’ll deal with the simple pupil dependent. If I’m lucky enough to win against the maid, you’ll still have a backhanded plan waiting for me. You’ve been trying to contaminate me, to control my spirit. What better way to destroy my spirit than to let me ki-ll He Fei myself?”
“From this, isn’t my friend’s hiding place obvious?” Mu Sichen pointed to the carriage behind him, “The ‘Princess’ has had far too much contact with He Fei.”
He casually threw out half of a mechanical tentacle that could move on its own; the tentacle struck the carriage heavily, the carriage shook viciously, and a man who was tied up and still sleeping fell out of the carriage; it was none other than He Fei.
This half of the mechanical tentacle was Yao Wangping’s relic. Mu Sichen had used the “digging” skill to get this half of the tentacle in the processing factory; after that, this tentacle had been hidden in his backpack, and it finally came in handy.
I just have some realizations, my thinking of the relationship dynamic of MSC and QZ have changed from MSC becoming a god so MC and ML are equal to MSC, a mortal being who gained godly powers but retained his humanity and QZ, a godly being who regained his humanity. Things that are on the extreme end of spectrum but meeting midway.
I’m really excited to know about QZ background even more (✯ᴗ✯)(✯ᴗ✯)(✯ᴗ✯)(✯ᴗ✯)
