Chapter Index

The weather was relatively hot, and Mu Sichen wore a white half-sleeved shirt, exposing most of his arms.

He was young and good-looking, so this outfit was particularly eye-catching, energetic and refreshing.

But with the addition of this floral arm, he now looked different, making him extremely noticable.

Mu Sichen covered his left arm with an empty bag, then he manoeuvred his bike with the other hand, and ran back to school.

According to his investigation, He Fei only got off work at 6pm, so there’d be no one in the dormitory at this time.

After returning to the dormitory, Mu Sichen changed into a long-sleeved black shirt, and tied the left hand cufflinks to the tightest row, to ensure that half of the tattoo wasn’t exposed.

After finishing all of this, Mu Sichen charged the phone that had automatically shut down.

Just after switching on the phone, Mu Sichen received a message from an unfamiliar number.

[I’m home, thank you.]

The time was 15:28, within a minute of Mu Sichen returning to the real world.

At that time, he put his mobile phone aside to check his backpack, and then the mobile phone automatically switched off due to insufficient power, when he returned to the dormitory Mu Sichen turned on the phone and saw this message.

It had to be Ying Mao!

He immediately dialled this unfamiliar number, it rang for a long time before someone answered, the other party’s voice sounded very flustered, with a sorrowful undertone.

Mu Sichen’s heart went cold, he opened his mouth and asked: “Hello, is this Ying Mao? I am your friend in the game.”

The opposite side was an older woman, she said, “I am Ying Mao’s mother, he was in a coma three days ago after a sudden illness, and just passed away.”

“I ……” Mu Sichen didn’t know what to say, he could only say some words of condolence then he hung up the phone.

In the end, he had never met Ying Mao and had no position to visit.

Unlike other players who died suddenly, Ying Mao was in a coma for three days before he died.

Mu Sichen thought that this should be because Ying Mao had entered the game three days ago with the same group of people as them, so logically the time to go offline should have been more than three days ago at three o’clock.

However, when they went offline for the first time, Ying Mao didn’t leave the game, so there was a gap for a period of time, and only then did Ying Mao’s body add to this gap with a coma, right?

Mu Sichen spread out his hand, the self sticker that had been attached to his palm was gone, it probably disappeared along with Ying Mao’s soul.

After all, he hadn’t been able to save Ying Mao, all he could do was to send him home.

Mu Sichen was a little sad and had no one to talk to, so he clicked on the group chat of the three.

Chi Lian and Cheng Xubo had already chatted about a lot of things.

Chi Lian: [What’s the situation, the time has been delayed by half an hour from when I went online? Did I disappear for this half hour?]

Cheng Xubo: [I entered the game at home and there is surveillance at home, I intercepted the video of this half hour and sent it to you guys to take a look].

Chi Lian: [It looks like you’ve been playing with your mobile phone, even if outsiders see it, it’s quite normal.]

Cheng Xubo: [But the time changed! This time it’s half an hour, what if it’s a day or two next time? What if it’s the same time as in the game?]

Chi Lian: [We need to figure out the time pattern, why did the time not change last time, but this time it changed?]

Cheng Xubo: [Is it because we were in the game for three days? Next time we’ll try to come back as soon as we finish the mission, okay?]

The two chatted a lot, and after Mu Sichen read them one by one, he hesitated, but in the end, he didn’t mention Ying Mao’s matter.

These two were full of hope for the game and the future, living very hard and positively, Mu Sichen didn’t want this news to make them lose their fighting spirit for the future.

He just said something about time.

Mu Sichen: [Last time, the three of us went offline at different times, but the time we returned to the real world was the same]

Chi Lian: [That means how long you stay in the game has nothing to do with the passage of time in the real world?]

Mu Sichen: [We can’t draw any conclusions without verifying it. How about this, next time we enter the game, the three of us will go offline separately. One day between each of us, record the time immediately after going offline and see if the three of us have the same amount of time].

Cheng Xubo: [That’s the only way. But this time the game has given us an extended rest period; we can rest for seven days.]

Chi Lian: [Yeah, finally I can rest properly for seven days, however I still have to go to work tomorrow. Saving another world on Sunday and then going to the office on Monday to be enslaved by the stupid X boss, what kind of human suffering is this?]

Cheng Xubo: [Hey, I’m the same. If it was a safe world and the real world time wouldn’t change when I entered the game, I’d just take a holiday in there and do nothing but sleep.]

Mu Sichen: [Next time I’ll go online in a week at 15:00 sharp.]

After receiving the message, the two of them started chatting again and started cursing their bosses one after another.

Mu Sichen didn’t join the dialogue again.

He had spent a lot of money in the past three days and had to take advantage of these seven days to make money as soon as possible.

Today was Sunday, the customers were available, and the orders were better.

Both to make money and to relieve the boredom in his heart, Mu Sichen took orders for five hours in one breath, only giving himself ten minutes to eat in between.

He played games til it was dark, but He Fei never came back.

It wasn’t until 9:30pm that Mu Sichen tiredly put down his mobile phone.

Surprisingly, he was only mentally exhausted, but his eyes were not as dry as they used to be.

While his right eye was still slightly tired, his left eye was always clear.

It was truly worthy of being the eye of a dependent.

If the eye gotten from the Feather-eyed dependent’s feathers was so effective, how would the glasses left behind by the big-eye be in the real world?

Mu Sichen couldn’t help but rummage for the glasses from his backpack, debating whether or not to wear them in the real world.

This thing extremely consumed ability value in the game, but there was no system or energy value in the real world, so there was no telling what wearing it would consume.

Moreover, the golden glasses had amazing power in the game, after wearing it, would it have the same effect as that world?

For example, you can see if someone is hiding in the bushes in the game, the opponent’s course of action and so on.

While he was holding the glasses and looking at them carefully, the dormitory door opened and He Fei came back.

Mu Sichen hurriedly stuffed the glasses into the bookshelf and pulled over a book to block it.

Although the system had said that the golden glasses wouldn’t affect the SAN value, Mu Sichen was still afraid of He Fei, afraid that this roommate would be confused by something again.

Speaking of which, He Fei might still be under the influence of Qin Zu’s power right now, and he didn’t know if he would come to disturb him tonight.

Mu Sichen looked at He Fei somewhat nervously.

He Fei was carrying a paper bag in his hand, and when he saw Mu Sichen, he “hummed”, sat down on the stool with some unhappiness, and said in a long drawn out tone, “Yo, you knew how to come back?”

“Yeah, I’m back.” Mu Sichen observed He Fei’s appearance.

He Fei took out a blue octopus doll from a paper bag, shook it at Mu Sichen and said, “Isn’t it just a doll? I just thought it’s quite cool, it must be very comfortable to hold and sleep with in summer, that’s why I wanted to borrow it, you’re even petty to this extent, you refused to lend it to me to hold it for a night! Now it’s not necessary, I’ve customised one myself!”

His customised doll was quite similar to the little octopus, the eight tentacles seemed to have liquid in them and looked cool.

“In order to keep your doll, you even ran out to live for three days. Chen Chen, ah, Chen Chen, your heart is too small.” He Fei shook his head in disappointment at Mu Sichen, put the doll on the bed, and went into the washroom to wash up.

Only then did Mu Sichen breathe a sigh of relief. He carefully took the gold wire glasses out of the bookshelf, intending to find a small box to put the glasses inside and then get a chain to lock them securely.

Who knew that immediately Mu Sichen took the glasses off the bookshelf. He Fei violently poked his head out of the washroom, pointing at Mu Sichen. “You cannot take advantage of my absence to touch my octopus. Your glasses are quite nice, ah? Are you nearsighted? Why do you need glasses?”

Mu Sichen: “……”

He Fei must be his nemesis.

He drew out a piece of paper, wrapped the golden glasses up, nodded, and said, “Yes, I got glasses; I’m cheap; I don’t want to show you.”

“The glasses have a different prescription; of course I can’t wear yours.” He Fei’s reaction was still normal. “But you have to wear it. Ah, your glasses are quite good-looking. Put them on. Let me take a look. I’ll lend you my doll to hold for a moment.”

“No, I’m sleepy. Sleep.” Mu Sichen took the glasses and went to bed.

The good thing was that this time He Fei was really not tempted by the golden glasses; he hummed a song and took a shower, returned to the bed, and kissed the doll hard. Apparently,  he still cared about the doll, and he didn’t have any attraction to the glasses.

While Mu Sichen was relieved, he felt that this scene was a bit of an eyesore.

It didn’t matter how He Fei kissed the doll, but the octopus doll and the little octopus customised by He Fei were too similar. Mu Sichen couldn’t help but think of the way He Fei kissed the little octopus, feeling strange in his heart.

Probably because he was afraid that He Fei would desecrate the god’s puppet in a moment of excitement.

Since He Fei was normal, Mu Sichen took his glasses and went to take a bath, then flopped back on the bed to sleep.

He was really tired.

Even when he slept, he didn’t dare to take off his shirt, and despite being a bit hot, he still hid his arms.

Mu Sichen fell into a deep sleep and didn’t know how long he had slept for, it was as if he was in a mist, and as if he had arrived in a huge palace.

There was a tall chair in front of him, and on the chair sat a person wrapped in mist.

Mu Sichen inexplicably felt that this person was somewhat familiar.

“Qin Zu?” Mu Sichen tried to ask.

The person whose face couldn’t be seen moved and slowly spoke, “Mu Sichen, withdraw your power.”

“My power?” Mu Sichen had a puzzled look on his face.

He felt strange, why would he dream of Qin Zu, who he hadn’t even seen his face?

“What power?” Mu Sichen scratched his head, “It’s always been you lending me power, right? And following me back to reality, making my roommate look like a psychopath. And …… this dream is so real, it can’t be that it’s not a dream, right? It was you who got me to this place?”

Thinking of this, Mu Sichen was instantly alert.

He had already returned to the real world, yet Qin Zu’s power could still invade reality? Why was this? Was it because of the tattoo on his arm?

“Take back the totem you left on me.” Qin Zu said again.

“Totem ……,” Mu Sichen was a little shocked as he remembered the self totem on the little octopus, “You’re so strong, you’re already so close to heavenly star, can’t you purify this little bit of my power on your own? ”

Even he was able to purify the contamination of the big-eye in the domain with the power of the pillars, how could Qin Zu not be able to eliminate his totem?

Mu Sichen felt as if Qin Zu behind the mist frowned, He waved his hand, and Mu Sichen felt as if he had fallen from a high altitude.

Mu Sichen woke up violently and sat up from the bed, that dream was real.

He shook his head and involuntarily pressed his left arm.

He felt around the bed, trying to find his mobile phone and use its light to look at the tentacle tattoo on his arm.

At this time, Mu Sichen felt that there seemed to be some brightness in the bedroom.

He followed the light source and saw that there was something on the floor that was emitting a faint blue light.

It was He Fei’s customised octopus doll, which was surprisingly also glow-in-the-dark.

He Fei’s sleeping posture was very bad, he kicked the quilt from time to time, and if it wasn’t for the bed’s guardrail being high enough, He Fei would have definitely fallen off the top bunk.

He Fei often woke up in the middle of the night because he kicked the quilt to the floor.

The pirated doll was just like He Fei’s quilt, which was pitifully kicked to the floor.

Seeing that He Fei didn’t wake up nor did he have any intention of climbing into his bed, Mu Sichen boldly climbed out of bed and squatted next to the doll to look at it.

The doll’s eyes were bubbling with an eerie blue light.

Mu Sichen couldn’t help but reach out and poke its brain, the feel of it was far worse than the real little octopus.

Taking advantage of He Fei’s sleep, Mu Sichen continuously poked the doll several times, and after playing with it for a while, he felt that his behaviour was too childish and prepared to go back to sleep.

Who knew that just as he got up, he felt his ankle tripped over by something.

Mu Sichen lowered his head, there was nothing close to his ankle, the doll was still about 10 centimetres away from him, so he shouldn’t have stepped on the doll.

Was it an illusion?

Mu Sichen turned around and continued to get into bed, suddenly he felt something sweep over his calf again.

This couldn’t be an illusion.

He turned on his phone’s torch and shone it around on the ground, and there was nothing but the customised doll.

But it was really just a customised doll, the materials used didn’t feel good in his hands, and it didn’t have large eyes, and its eyes wouldn’t flood with watery mist, so it couldn’t be comparable to the little octopus at all.

Still, Mu Sichen picked up the doll and placed it on He Fei’s bedside.

Nothing touched him this time.

Mu Sichen slept again and didn’t wake up until after six the next morning.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a octopus doll on his bedside, staring at him with big eyes.

Mu Sichen: “……”

He, last night, had put this doll on He Fei’s bedside, right? He shouldn’t be confused to this extent.

An unthinkable thought rose in Mu Sichen.

He undid the cuff on his left wrist and gently pulled up his sleeve.

The tentacle tattoo on his arm disappeared.

Mu Sichen looked at the doll again, only to see that one of the thing’s tentacles was hooking his wrist.

Mu Sichen: “……”

At this time an angry roar came out, “Mu Sichen! It’s fine that you didn’t lend me your doll to hug, but you even secretly hugged my customised doll to sleep while I was asleep?”

Mu Sichen: “……”

Would He Fei believe him when he said that this doll ran to his bed in the middle of the night?
