C4 — First Interstellar Prison
by UntamedSThe civilian aircraft couldn’t hold out much longer after all; before he even got out of the Federation sector, it was already signaling that it was running low on fuel.
“009, can you help me forge a temporary identity?”
He Xiangchen planned to first land on a nearby planet and then search for energy supplements. But all his identification documents were confiscated, and once the space station extracted his genes, the first thing they would do was send someone to repatriate him back.
009 was obviously particularly focused on the rare opportunity to help it’s host: “Don’t worry, host, 009 will handle it.”
Soon, 009 tailor-made a fake identity for him, using He Xiangchen’s name. His resume and identity were both forged, but they could be found on the federation’s registration system.
He Xiangchen was very satisfied.
But he didn’t expect something unexpected to happen suddenly!
The radar screen of the aircraft showed a starship less than fifty light-years behind it! The opponent’s speed was extremely fast, and almost after He Xiangchen gave the acceleration command, the starship had already stopped in front of him.
Helpless, he had no choice but to reduce the speed of the aircraft.
At the next moment, the prompt sound of the aircraft rang out: “Communication request, do you accept?”
Before He Xiangchen could make a decision, the aircraft automatically chose to accept it. He immediately realized that the performance of this starship should be far superior to that of an aircraft.
The communication channel was connected, and a stranger’s figure appeared on the screen. He Xiangchen glanced at him then he remembered that he had seen this person in court—the man who had sat calmly in place after the riot.
It seemed that the man wasn’t stupid; it was just that he really wasn’t the least bit alarmed.
“General Yu, I know you’re trying to find a way to leave the Federation’s star domain. But with the aircraft you’re piloting now, it’s impossible to break through the Federation’s defense system.”
The handsome, peerless man folded his legs gracefully; his cheetah-like gaze was filled with surging intent.
He Xiangchen subconsciously met his eyes, and the ambiguous look in his eyes made him very uncomfortable. He subconsciously squinted and asked in a deep voice, “So what? What do you want to do? Take me back to the Federation to claim credit?”
“No, General. You’ve misunderstand me. I can help you escape from the Federation, give you an identity, and even help you investigate the so-called truth.”
“What about your conditions?”
Angnis’s gaze flickered, then he smiled and said, “I want that resource planet. I think the general should know what I mean.”
“Deal.”
As soon as He Xiangchen finished speaking, he saw the starship’s access channel open. He piloted the aircraft into the access channel.
“Welcome to the Rockside; it’s an honor to have the opportunity to collaborate with General Yu. Let me introduce myself; my name is Angnis, and they are my deputies.”
However, he stopped speaking without any intention of introducing the two deputies.
He Xiangchen was slightly taken aback and asked, “Angnis? The star pirate roaming the Alpha Galaxy?”
Angnis gentlemanly leaned in and said, “I prefer you use the word ‘entrenched’.”
His voice was deliberately lowered with a hint of lingering hoarseness.
As if He Xiangchen hadn’t noticed anything wrong, he glanced at him without any emotion and said, “It’s up to you, but I don’t think there’s any difference.”
The general wasn’t responsible for eliminating star pirates, but he also didn’t like to collude with them.
Angnis knew this very well, but the curvature of the corners of his mouth didn’t diminish. He walked in front of He Xiangchen, patiently introducing him to the internal facilities of the Rockside, like a dedicated tour guide.
Fei’er and William followed behind them, not even daring to breathe. Was the Devil possessed? Or was he stimulated by something? A gentleman? Enthusiastic? This didn’t look like Angnis’s personality at all!
He Xiangchen cooperated and followed Angnis around his Rockside airship. It had to be said that this was an epic-class starship with complete functions and excellent performance. In battle, the role that this starship could play was no less than that of a mobile fortress filled with laser cannons.
“May I ask about the plan now?” He Xiangchen nodded slightly and took the coffee that Fei’er handed him.
“I hope Mr. Angnis understands that I am a fugitive and every second of my freedom is precious to me.”
Angnis gave him a reassuring look as he responded, “Since General is in such a hurry, I’ll get straight to the point. There are three pieces of evidence of you betraying the Federation. The first piece of evidence is the audio files of the general and the king of the Demira star system; the second piece of evidence is proof of your property ownership in the Demira star system; and the third piece of evidence is a transfer of assets signed by you personally.”
He Xiangchen nodded. These three pieces of evidence had all been presented in court, which was why he felt a bit of a headache.
Whose body did the virus of this world attach itself to in order to obtain these false exhibits without Yu Qiming’s knowledge?
If he hadn’t been able to confirm that Yu Qiming hadn’t done these things, even he himself might have felt that Yu Qiming had betrayed the Federation.
“Are you planning to start from the evidence?”
He Xiangchen quickly found the key.
“That’s right,” Angnis gestured for William to construct the star map. “General, please take a look. This is the star map of the Demira star system. To avoid the border, we must cross space in the Prada star domain and reach the Demira star planet. Only there can we collect enough evidence to compete with these pieces of evidence.”
He Xiangchen looked at the star map constructed by William with a slightly amazed expression, which displayed a much richer amount of information than the existing ones in the Federation.
“It’s very good,” he casually praised.
Then he saw the almost perfect star map suddenly collapse into bits, with blue light falling to the ground.
William dared to swear that the way Angnis looked at him just now was definitely no different from usual. No, it was even more terrifying than before!
He Xiangchen glanced suspiciously at Angnis, and the other smiled in a friendly manner, “Sorry, the small child hasn’t mastered this skill yet. I’ve made the general laugh.”
“It’s already very impressive.” He Xiangchen politely responded.
Without a trace, Angnis glared at the shivering William and raised his hand to let him go down to rest.
“After the space crossing, you will land at an unsupervised abandoned planet. That’s my base, so before the general turns around to exterminate us in the future, I’d like to ask the general to eat this.”
He took out a box from inside the spatial button, and inside laid a pill.
He Xiangchen frowned slightly. “What is this?”
“□□□.” Angnis spread his hands. “But don’t worry, General, as long as you get what you want after returning to the Federation, I will naturally give the antidote with both hands.”
“And if I don’t eat it?”
“Then I’m sorry, I can’t let my people take the risk for nothing.”
He Xiangchen narrowed his eyes, and the aura of a longtime superior emanated at once. However, the genetic suppression he had expected didn’t appear, and Angnis remained motionless, as if he hadn’t been affected in any way.
After a few moments, He Xiangchen suddenly laughed, “Angnis, you’re the first person who dares to force me to take medicine.”
After saying that, he picked up the pill in the box, and without even drinking the water, he directly sent them into his mouth and swallowed them.
“My pleasure.”
Angnis turned his back, a smile still on his face that one couldn’t find fault with, “It will take some time for the space leap to begin, so General, you can walk around as you please, or have Fei’er take you back to your room to rest.”
Fei’er glanced at him in surprise, but she didn’t say anything and just followed behind He Xiangchen.
Only when He Xiangchen walked away did Angnis put his hand in front of him and spread it out; it was already a bloo-dy mess.
However, he didn’t feel any pain; instead, he stared at the bloo-dy flesh for a long time, his smile slowly spreading, the amusement in his eyes growing stronger.
“As expected of the general,” he licked the corner of his lips. “I wasn’t disappointed.”
……
“General Yu, this is your room. Please ring the call bell by the bed if you need anything.”
Fei’er set the room’s password to He Xiangchen’s iris, and only after doing so did she excuse herself and leave.
He Xiangchen closed the door, and the first thing he did was ask 009 to check the room for any surveillance devices.
“Host, don’t worry, this room doesn’t have any surveillance. Also, I checked your body for you but didn’t find toxins.” 009 was puzzled. He Xiangchen had clearly taken the pill, so why didn’t it find toxins in his body? Could it be that this small world still had toxins that it couldn’t detect?
He Xiangchen lightly laughed, “That’s normal; what he gave me wasn’t a □□□ in the first place; it’s just an ordinary pill.”
“Huh? Why?”
“I don’t know; maybe it’s just a prank?” He Xiangchen made a rare joke: “Even though I don’t have any toxins in my body, I still have to pretend that the pill is effective, or at least I can’t act like I’m fine.”
009 was even more confused.
He Xiangchen patiently explained, “It’s the same as how he knew there was no resource planet, but he still had to pretend to be interested. Yu Qiming is a general, and arranging troops is his strong point, but insight into people’s hearts is not. It’s impossible for ‘him’ to guess that the pill isn’t poisonous… so I’m a little worried that Angnis is testing me.”
“Testing to see if I’m Yu Qiming.”
009 suddenly realized, “What you mean is that he is the virus! Aren’t you be in danger? With you on board his ship, it would be easy for him to get his hands on you.”
He Xiangchen took off his prison uniform and casually threw it on the sofa, then walked towards the bathroom.
“If he’s a virus, there’s no need for him to appear before me in such a hurry. Regardless, I need his help.” He Xiangchen stroked his left wrist, the skin on it obviously lighter than the surrounding color. “Since I became Yu Qiming, I must fulfill his heart’s desire in order for it to be considered a perfect ending.”
“Host is saying that Angnis isn’t necessarily a virus? Then why did he help you?” 009 couldn’t figure it out; since Angnis knew that the Energy Planet was a front, why would he still help He Xiangchen?
He Xiangchen’s action of adjusting the temperature of the water lurched, and a hint of amusement lingered in his narrow eyes. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly as he murmured in a low voice, “Who knows, maybe he’s Yu Qiming’s long-lost brother.”
