Chapter Index

Not expecting that he would be directly hung up on, the scarred man was simply furious; he slammed the console and roared, “Give me an attack! Blow up those people on the other side!”

The subordinate standing behind the scarred man responded in fear: “Boss, judging from the way those people were dressed and the interior of the airship, those people should be very rich; if we blast them directly, what if the airship is damaged?”

The subordinate originally just wanted to persuade his boss to calm down a little, but this sentence actually poked him in a sore spot, which made the scarred man even more angry: “You didn’t hear my order? If it’s broken, it’s broken; do you think I care about this piece of sh*t airship?!”

The scarred man raised a cup in his hand; he turned around and smashed it on his subordinate.

The subordinate panicked and dodged, then hurriedly backed up: “Yes, I’ll go arrange the attack.”

A minute later, the airship was ready to attack, and the Scarred Man’s hostile eyes narrowed slightly as he let out a cold snort: “Launch the attack! Blast them all into dregs!”

“Yes!” With a command, all attacks were launched.

Then, one second passed, five seconds passed, ten seconds passed… The particle cannons that should have rushed out of the cannon chamber suddenly seemed to mute collectively. They neither penetrated the night sky nor bloomed brilliant fireworks on the opponent’s spaceship, nor did they indicate that their attack had failed, announcing the arrival of a joke.

The scarred man’s facial expression was already filled with pleasure, then he suddenly froze: “What the hell is going on here? Where is the attack? Is this how you launched an attack?”

Immediately, the communication device rang out with the companion’s panicked voice: “Boss, I… don’t know what’s going on; our attacks have all failed!”

“Failed? Are you deliberately teasing me? There were so many particle cannons; how could they all be ineffective?” The scarred man obviously didn’t believe that such a possibility still existed. “Did you intentionally mess things up because you were interested in one of those two little white faces just now?”

The subordinate’s voice became more anxious: “No boss, our attacks really failed; I’ve tried several times, but the result is the same; what’s going on here?”

The tone of the other party didn’t sound like he was pretending, and the scarred man realized the seriousness of the problem. Just as he was about to personally inspect the weapons of the airship, his companion in charge of the airship’s movement brought another piece of bad news: “Boss, I don’t know what’s going on, but our airship can’t move! The control panel is completely malfunctioning!”

The companions on the other two ships also quickly communicated, indicating the same situation.

As accidents appeared one after another, the veins on the scarred man’s forehead popped out: “All of you, be quiet and don’t bother me! Did I raise you all as losers? When you encounter something, you all panic like this; you really don’t mind causing me shame.”

The enemy hadn’t been resolved yet, but there were so many problems on his side at once, the Scarred Man was anxious, and right at this moment, the other party suddenly sent another communication request.

The scarred man’s eyes looked through the glass to the cosmic spaceship not far away, stationary in the cosmic night sky, and a strange sense of fear suddenly inexplicably roiled up in the bottom of his heart.

He violently shook his head to dispel this fear and then furiously… accepted the communication request.

Before he could speak in harsh language, He Yishu across from him had already casually spoken: “The fleet cannot move, nor can the attack be launched. You can’t do anything, so do you have time to answer my question just now?”

He Yishu once again put out Chris’ picture and asked with a smile, “This person, is he in your fleet?”

If it were before, the scarred man would have unceremoniously scolded the other party before beating him to death.

However, after his fleet somehow had so many problems, and the other party pointed it out right on the spot, the scarred man suddenly felt a cold sweat coming out from behind his back, and he completely lost his confidence.

But even though he had no confidence in his heart, Scarred Man still tried to look fierce on the surface: “What the hell are you talking about? What can’t move? What can’t move? What can’t attack? Do you believe that I will blow you up directly now?”

“Then come on.” He Yishu shrugged his shoulders, considering what would happen to this man next; he would temporarily ignore this man’s lack of manners.

The scarred man was choked by He Yishu and angered by the other party’s attitude, so he couldn’t wait to rush straight to the other party’s airship to beat him up: “Shut the hell up!”

“So you still don’t want to answer my question, right?” He Yishu sighed somewhat helplessly, “Since you’re so insiostent, we’ll have to resort to extraordinary means.”

The scarred man looked at He Yishu warily, but obviously didn’t fully believe that he was able to take any extraordinary means that would be dangerous to him.

Adrian, who was standing beside He Yishu, glanced at the scarred man and silently laid out his Electronic Military Identification, and when the scarred man took a closer look, he was instantly dumbfounded: “You you, you… how could you be…”

Shouldn’t this just be an ordinary airplane for traveling? Why would there be a Major General of the Military on the airship?

As for why Adrian’s military rank had risen to Major General in such a short period of time, it was mainly related to He Yishu.

Adrian ignored the Scarred Man’s shocked voice and spoke sternly, “This airship has the most advanced attack and defense systems on board, and it would take less than a minute to blast away three old model battleships, so you’d better think about it before determining whether or not to answer this question.”

The scarred man subconsciously swallowed; he was panicked to the point of no return. If one were to ask what kind of people pirates liked to encounter the most, it would obviously be the fat and greasy travelers.

If one were to ask pirates what people they were most afraid of encountering, then without a doubt, it was obviously the people from the military.

Especially when one’s own battleship lost its attacking ability or even couldn’t move, it became even more frightening.

The arrogance just now disappeared, and the scarred man inquired in a cold sweat, “If… if I answer the question I just asked, will you guys let me go?”

“Your question is redundant; even if you don’t answer this question, are we unable to know the answer?” Adrian sneered, “You don’t have any possibility of escaping now.”

He Yishu added from the side, “But whether you answer this question back or not, it still has an impact on what kind of fate you will end up in next.”

“I… let me think about it…” The scarred man pretended to be thinking about this question on one side and secretly reached out and pressed the escape button on the console on the other side.

In order to stay alive, everything he had now could be discarded, but he must not be caught by the people from the military department.

Under normal operation, as long as the escape button was pressed, all the passageways of the entire battleship would be locked, leaving only one escape route to pass through, and this route was connected to the escape cabin.

After pressing the escape button, the expression on the scarred man’s face gradually became harsh: “I’m so sick of this! So what if you’re from the military? Do you really think you can catch me? I’m telling you, it’s not that easy to catch me!”

“So?” Yishu raised an eyebrow.

The scarred man sneered, bent down, opened a password cabinet underneath the operating desk, and held out a square object from inside: “Do you know what this is?”

He Yishu had never seen this kind of thing before, so naturally he didn’t have much of a reaction, but Adrian’s eyes narrowed slightly: “The QLX28794 nuclear power bo-mb?”

“You really deserve to be a Major General of the military department, even recognizing it at a glance; then you should also know very well how much destructive power this kind of device will cause once it is detonated!” At this moment, the scarred man’s face was already filled with ferocity: “I will detonate this bo-mb later and blast all of you into dregs!”

As the Scarred Man spoke, he pressed the countdown button, and the ten-minute countdown began.

Adrian first exchanged a look with He Yishu, then coldly said, “Aren’t you afraid of blowing yourself up as well?”

“Of course I won’t accompany you people to die, because I’m going to escape soon,” the scarred man raised his face and already said with a voice of resentment and contempt, “Although this encounter with you guys made me lose a huge amount of money, at least I’m still alive, but you all will have to die! So in the end, it’s still I who won!”

“But ……,” He Yishu didn’t look the least bit flustered, and he even calmly raised a not-so-important question, “Isn’t your fleet unable to move at all right now? How are you going to escape if you really detonate the bo-mb?”

“The only person who needs to escape is me; as for the others, what do I care if they live or die?” The scarred man snorted, clearly not placing his companion’s life in his eyes at all.

He Yishu seemed surprised by this answer and asked, “Aren’t those people your companions? Even if they are not considered companions, they have at least been with you for some time, right? Are you really not going to care about their lives?”

“Don’t fucking mind my business; you’re all going to die soon too!” The scarred man deliberately placed the bomb in a position where He Yishu’s side could see the time clearly and then set the bo-mb’s detonation time at ten minutes later. “See the time clearly? After ten minutes, all of you will be finished!”

“You’re really a cold-bloo-ded and heartless guy; not only are you cold-blo-oded towards your enemies, you’re also cold-blo-oded towards your own people,” He Yishu snorted lightly. “But there’s only ten minutes in total, and the countdown has already started, so aren’t you going to hurry up and leave now? Save yourself the time to die with us.”

“Want me to die with you guys? Impossible!” A strange laughter came out of the scarred man’s mouth. “But I can’t leave too early; it only takes five minutes for the life pod to be out of the bo-mb’s reach; if I go too far, won’t I be unable to see how you guys were blown to dust?”

“I’m just worried that you won’t have enough time by the end,” He Yishu glanced at the time displayed on the bomb. “There’s only 8 minutes and 53 seconds left now; are you sure that more than three minutes will be enough time for you to get out of this battleship?”

“You guys really don’t seem to be in a hurry at all; are you already resigned to your fate because you know you will definitely die?” The scarred man was actually keeping an eye on the time; seeing that it was almost time, he also stopped talking nonsense. “You guys can just slowly count the time here and wait for your deaths; I won’t be accompanying you, Major Admiral.”

When he said the last again, he appeared to be gnashing his teeth.

After saying that, the scarred man grinned and gave a nasty smile to He Yishu and Adrian before turning around and walking towards the life-saving passageway on the side with a sharp movement.

However, the expression on his face soon froze as he realized that the door to the life pod couldn’t be pulled open at all!
