C142 — Interstellar Travel
by UntamedSBetween you and romance, sometimes there was just one interstellar trip missing.
When He Yishu stood in the spaceship, his eyes were surrounded by the vast starry sky of the universe, and these words suddenly appeared in his mind.
Adrian stood behind him, gently placed his chin on He Yishu’s shoulder, and lowered his voice. “Do you like it?”
“Mmm, it’s really beautiful.” He Yishu’s voice also subconsciously softened, as if he were afraid of breaking the surrounding silence that was so beautiful that it moved the heart.
This scenery that opened up in front of him was a beauty that was full of shocking power, while at the same time carrying a sense of silence, they had always been here, no matter if there was no one to discover or appreciate this beauty.
“Looks like I made the right decision.” Adrian’s hands wrapped around He Yishu’s waist; he accidentally saw a picture post about interstellar traveling before, and only after that did he realize that He Yishu had undertaken any interstellar traveling; he hadn’t even left the Capital Planet, and then he had this idea.
“Very true.” He Yishu turned his face sideways and unabashedly dropped a soft kiss on Adrian’s cheek.
Adrian let out a low laugh, then suddenly thought of something and slowly straightened up, “I know that on this airplane, there’s a very nice venue that you’ll definitely like.”
“What kind of place is it?” He Yishu asked curiously.
Adrian didn’t answer, but instead took He Yishu’s hand and walked towards their destination, and eventually the two of them walked into a room that had a huge amount of space and even looked slightly empty.
There was nothing furnished in this room, not even the most basic tables, chairs, benches, or beds; it looked very empty.
“Is this the venue you said was very nice?” He Yishu looked up and down, left and right, and really didn’t find anything else nice about this room other than it being relatively large and exceptionally clean.
Adrian smiled faintly and said in a mysterious manner, “Xiao Shu, close your eyes first.”
This kind of line, which clearly meant that a surprise was about to come, made He Yishu feel a little more expectant, and he glanced at Adrian with a wry smile, then slowly closed his eyes.
Without the hindrance of sight, He Yishu clearly felt his heart slowly begin to accelerate its beating frequency. This kind of situation where nothing had clearly happened yet but he couldn’t help but feel excited made He Yishu feel as if he had turned back into a child.
Adrian didn’t let He Yishu wait for a long time, and after about less than ten seconds, Adrian’s voice came over, “You can open your eyes.”
And in those nearly ten seconds, the only thing Adrian did seemed to be to go around to He Yishu’s back and hug him.
He Yishu pursed his lips slightly and slowly opened his eyes, and in the next instant, his heartbeat seemed to have suddenly stopped in that instant.
He once again saw the stars that were so beautiful that they dotted the entire world, but unlike just now, what He Yishu could see were only the stars that sparkled with bright lights, nothing else.
Even under his feet, it was no longer the polished floor but a night sky dotted with stars.
It was as if he had become an individual floating in the universe, no longer subject to any restrictions and could go anywhere.
And behind him, Adrian held him tightly, as if he had become one with him and would never be separated no matter what the circumstances.
This calm and subtle yet hidden excitement made He Yishu’s heart, which had just had a momentary pause, once again beat like a drum.
“Xiao Shu, do you like it?” Adrian’s low and deep voice came from his ears, seeming so close and so far away.
He Yishu could barely blink: “I like it.”
Adrian gently pushed He Yishu forward; this feeling was like two people snuggling up to each other and strolling in the boundless universe. At this time, He Yishu realized why this room was set up so big, but nothing was arranged.
It wasn’t until nearly an hour later that He Yishu and Adrian were able to detach themselves from the silence that connected them to the depths of their hearts, as they were about to go eat.
Although they were in a spaceship, the meals here weren’t much different from those on the Capital Star, and they could still eat the freshest vegetables, fruits, meats, and snacks thanks to the convenience brought about by the development of technology.
After finishing his lunch, He Yishu finally remembered that he had to get down to business; after all, he still needed to try to complete the task that was set down by Arman during the course of this journey.
Since it was only the third day of their interstellar journey, there were no objects around that could be used for experiments; therefore, He Yishu planned to directly experiment with this spaceship.
And the first thing He Yishu wanted to test was the speed.
This test was very simple: first let the spaceship move forward at a fixed speed, then He Yishu would use the Han character card, and then record the speed of the spaceship after using the card. Then he could know whether the Han character rune card could work on the whole spaceship.
It only took less than an hour for this test to have a relatively accurate result; the Han character rune card produced by He Yishu could indeed effectively change the speed of the entire spaceship.
Although it was just a very simple test, He Yishu still promptly reported this result to Arman.
Arman also complimented him very cooperatively: “I didn’t expect to have the results of a test so quickly; Xiao Shu is really very capable.”
He Yishu was embarrassed by the compliment: “It’s just the most common test, and this is already the third day.”
Arman, however, continued to praise him in a serious manner: “It’s only the third day and there are already test results; such efficiency is already very high; moreover, in the task I set for you, many places will need luck, so I already resigned to not having any gains in the end; you have indeed given me a big surprise, which is a very good start for the completion of this task.”
He Yishu had to say nothing.
On the eighth day of the trip, the spacecraft encountered a meteorite belt jump, and He Yishu took the opportunity to do another handful of experiments.
After that, the spaceship made two jumps and approached a small planet known as the Traveling Ball.
On this small planet with a beautiful environment and suitable climate, He Yishu and Adrian traveled for nearly two months.
However, during this process, He Yishu didn’t forget to take the time to do some experiments and record data.
After playing all the places on the planet, the two of them boarded the spaceship again to continue their journey to the next stop in the interstellar world.
After that, the two of them went to several small planets with good scenery and their own special features, and it was only after nearly half a year that they finally embarked on their return journey.
When the spaceship took off again and started traveling back and forth, He Yishu couldn’t help but sigh with emotion, “I didn’t expect our trip to last this long at all.”
After relaxing for such a long time, Adrian also felt very satisfied: “But we did have a great time, didn’t we? This is a very rare opportunity, and when the Han character rune card profession is established, we probably won’t be able to go on vacation for such a long time.”
“Calculating the time, the Rune Card Major will soon start accepting students. Ah, I reckon we’ll return to the Capital Star just in time for this.” He Yishu moved his hands and counted; the result shocked him; they had actually played for so long!
He had thought that they would be able to return to the Capital Star very quickly, but the thing that surprised He Yishu was that his luck was so good that he encountered a gang of pirates on the way back.
One of the members of the military department who was sent by Arman spoke solemnly, “Rear Admiral Adrian, Mr. He, we have detected a fleet of unknown origin approaching us, and the other spaceship is about to open combat mode.”
“An unknown fleet? So we can’t tell what they are, right?” Yishu raised his eyebrows.
The other gave an answer: “For this kind of fleet that cannot be identified, we are 90% sure that the other party’s identity could be interstellar pirates, with the remaining 1% to be determined.”
“Interstellar pirates. Then can we get in touch with them first?” He Yishu still remembered that he had promised to help the second prince, and since he had come across interstellar pirates by such a coincidence, he had to try his best to ask about him, regardless of whether there were any results.
The member of the military department hesitated for a moment but still nodded: “Yes, but only if the other party doesn’t launch a direct attack; otherwise, we might not have the chance to communicate with the other party, and we must absolutely guarantee your safety.”
He Yishu nodded. “I understand; thank you for your understanding, but of course the safety of all of us must come first; communication comes second.”
A few minutes later, a fleet cut through the night sky and appeared in He Yishu’s line of sight. With the other party plus the main ship, there were a total of three warships.
Within the range where the signal could be conveyed, He Yishu took the initiative to initiate a communication request to the other airship.
Soon, the communication was connected, and what appeared in front of He Yishu’s eyes was a middle-aged man with a scar on his face.
As soon as the communication was connected, the other party said with contempt and nonchalance, “Yo, it seems to be a rich family engaging in some kind of uninteresting interstellar traveling; then I won’t make things difficult for you; just open the hatch of the ship directly.”
“May I ask if there is a person named Chris in your place?” He Yishu didn’t get angry in the slightest; instead, he laid out Chris’s picture: “He looks like this; he has red hair; if he’s right in the middle of you guys, there shouldn’t be anyone who can’t notice him, right?”
Not expecting He Yishu to react like this, the scarred man’s expression instantly turned grim. “What are you wasting my words for? I’m giving you an order now; how dare you ask me a question? Are you out of your mind?”
“So you don’t recognize this person? But can you be sure that no one else in your battleship has seen this person?” He Yishu smiled slightly, his attitude looking particularly polite. “You must be clear about one thing: this person is really important to you guys. Because if he’s there, I might be able to consider showing you guys a little mercy, but if this person isn’t there with you guys, then for the sake of those words you just uttered, maybe you guys really won’t have any good fruit to eat.”
“Shut the fuck up!” The scarred man was completely enraged. “Hurry up and open the hatch for me, or you’ll all die!”
He Yishu softly “tsked,” somewhat helplessly turning his head to Adrian and saying, “It seems that kind words really don’t work; it’s better to do it directly; we can do an experiment in the meantime.”
Adrian rubbed He Yishu’s hair: “You’re just too soft-tempered.”
Seeing that these two people didn’t even pay attention to him, the face of the scarred man on the other side was extremely distorted; however, he was about to start cursing when he was suddenly hung up on.
