Chapter Index

On Sunday, He Yishu and Adrian got ready and went to the hotel where his classmate was holding his birthday party.

Just as they arrived at the entrance of the hotel, He Yishu saw that classmate move to greet him with quick steps, and he said with a smile on his face, “He Yishu, Adrian, thank you for coming to my birthday party; I’m really happy!”

“You’re about to get 50,000 credits; of course you’re happy.” He Yishu spat in his heart, but only smiled lightly, and then followed the classmate into the hotel.

Although the classmate said that he had invited a lot of classmates to attend his birthday party, when He Yishu arrived at the place, he realized that he had only arranged for a large box, and there were only about twenty people inside.

Everyone saw He Yishu and Adrian, so they came over and exchanged some pleasantries before they took their seats.

After about ten minutes or so, the waiter brought in a new batch of drinks, and one of the invited students, who wasn’t on good terms with He Yishu, quickly walked up and took two drinks from the waiter before turning around and walking in front of He Yishu and Adrian.

“Please have some drinks.” The student who was carrying the two drinks looked a bit shy, slightly lowering his eyes as if he didn’t dare to look into He Yishu’s eyes.

He Yishu said thank you and took the drinks. At the same time, He Tingting, who was sitting on the other side of the box, also received a drink from a friend.

Although the two of them weren’t sitting in close proximity, He Yishu could clearly feel that ever since he entered the box, He Tingting’s gaze had been constantly on him, especially when he received the drink just now. That kind of anxious gaze became even more obvious.

Thinking of this, He Yishu slightly smiled, then deliberately placed the drink on the glass coffee table in front of him first and didn’t drink it.

He Tingting was over there holding her own drink; her heart was going up and down, and she was afraid that He Yishu wouldn’t drink it.

Just as she wanted to think of some other way, she saw He Yishu pick up the drink and walk towards her, which made He Tingting instantly straighten her spine and tighten her grip on the cup in her hand.

“He Tingting.” He Yishu walked over to He Tingting, gazing blandly at He Tingting, who looked extremely nervous. “I’m very surprised that you would appear here; didn’t you know that I would be coming over?”

She was very nervous, but she deliberately frowned and said in disgust, “What does it have to do with me if you come or not? I don’t even want to talk to you!”

She had to act normal so that she wouldn’t attract suspicion after the incident, He Tingting told herself in her heart.

“What a coincidence! I actually don’t really want to talk to you either,” He Yishu snorted, but didn’t turn away straight away; his gaze traveled towards the cup in He Tingting’s hand. “The mango juice you’re holding looks delicious; can I exchange it with you?”

“Can’t!” He Tingting refused with an eager attitude, and only after speaking did she realize that her tone seemed a little too eager, so she nervously added, “Who am I to exchange drinks with you? Please don’t bother me any further, okay?”

“Won’t you consider swapping drinks with me?” He Yishu said with a dash of bad intentions, “Maybe my drink is better than yours?”

“I’ve already said that I don’t want to exchange drinks with you, don’t you understand?” He Tingting’s heart skipped a beat. All she wanted now was for He Yishu to leave quickly. How could she possibly be willing to exchange drinks with He Yishu when she knew that there was something wrong with that drink?

Moreover, He Tingting was really worried that He Yishu would find something abnormal at the most crucial moment.

He Yishu tilted his head and finally stopped insisting on this matter. Instead, he asked a somewhat abrupt question: “He Tingting, to be honest, have you ever felt regret and guilt for the things you’ve done that hurt me in the past, even for a second?”

“He Yishu, can you stop saying such words that deliberately attack me?” He Tingting raised an eyebrow, and she thought that He Yishu was intentionally trying to embarrass her by asking this. “We’re at someone else’s birthday party; I wish you would stop talking nonsense!”

“Fine, just take it as me talking nonsense; in fact, I just want to tell you that for the things I’ve done, I’ve never had any regrets, before or now.” He shrugged indifferently, finally carrying his drink back to his seat.

However, after returning to his seat, He Yishu still didn’t rush to drink his drink and instead chatted with Adrian in a low voice.

On the other side, He Tingting was clearly not in the mood for a drink either, her two hands tightly gripping the glass, her eyes glancing over to He Yishu’s side from time to time, all her attention focused on this side.

Therefore, He Tingting didn’t notice that her friend’s expression was somewhat unnatural. She even frequently focused her gaze on the glass in her hand. After a while, her friend couldn’t help but say, “Tingting, what are you looking at? Why haven’t you drank or eaten anything?”

He Tingting hurriedly swept a glance at her friend. Due to her nervousness, she didn’t notice her friend’s abnormality, and she was worried that her nervousness would be seen by others, so she directly and perfunctorily brought the glass to her mouth and took a sip.

To He Tingting’s surprise, after she took a sip of her drink, she saw that He Yishu, who was sitting on the other side of the table, actually picked up his drink and took a sip as well.

He had finally drank it!

He Tingting’s heartbeat instantly sped up several times, then she immediately withdrew her gaze, placed the drink in her hand heavily on the table, and turned her head to her friend beside her. “I’m not feeling too well, so I’d like to go back first.”

Her mother had told her earlier that the potion would take a while to take effect after drinking it, and that she had to leave this place before then.

Her friend’s gaze flickered slightly, and she said with some concern, “Why are you suddenly not feeling well? Do you want me to go back with you?”

He Tingting waved her hand and stood up with her bag: “No need, I can go back by myself; you guys continue to play; don’t let me spoil the fun.”

After saying that, He Tingting didn’t give the other party time to react; she directly got up and quickly walked out of the box.

And behind her, her friend sighed heavily, while He Yishu slowly smiled.

After He Tingting walked out of the hotel, she directly took the airship back to her home, and as soon as she walked in, she couldn’t control herself as she excitedly said to Lu Na, who was already waiting in the living room, “Mum, we did it! We did it!”

Upon hearing He Tingting’s words, Lu Na, who had been in a tense state of mind, was relieved, but He Xiaochen, who was sitting opposite Lu Na and had been accompanying her because he didn’t trust his mother, stood up fiercely: “Mom, didn’t you promise me that you would give up on this plan before? What’s going on now?”

The situation had already come to an end, so Lu Na stopped pretending and said, “Xiao Chen, please sit down first. Now that things have happened, it’s no use arguing with your mother about these things. What we need to do now is pay attention to the follow-up on this matter; we must not let this matter point back to us.”

He Xiaochen was furious, but he also understood that what Lu Na said was indeed the truth. He had no choice but to sit down again: “Mum, tell me carefully now; how exactly did you arrange this? Please don’t lie to me anymore, because if something goes wrong, we’re all screwed!”

Lu Na nodded and was just about to speak when she saw that He Tingting’s face was slightly pale. She couldn’t help but ask, “Tingting, what’s wrong with you? Is something wrong?”

“I’m fine,” He Tingting rubbed her temples and frowned. “I just feel a bit of a headache; maybe it’s because I was too nervous just now. I should be fine if I relax a bit.”

However, the truth wasn’t what He Tingting expected; instead of her headache decreasing with time, it became heavier and heavier.

After ten minutes, He Tingting’s face had turned pale, and a thin layer of cold sweat had even surfaced on her forehead. She leaned helplessly against the sofa, and even her voice was trembling: “Mum, my head hurts so much; it’s so painful!”

Lu Na and He Xiaochen immediately panicked. He Xiaochen got up and walked to He Tingting’s side, saying with concern, “Tingting, apart from the headache, is there anything else that is uncomfortable in your body?”

He Tingting was already a bit delirious from the headache. Hearing He Xiaochen’s voice, she couldn’t care less about expressing her emotions; she just frowned and grunted softly: “It’s just a headache. Oh, why does my head hurt so much?”

Getting such an answer, He Xiaochen then dared to reach out and pick up He Tingting from the sofa, quickly walking out: “Tingting, hold on for a bit longer; I’ll send you to the hospital!”

Behind him, Lu Na was sitting on the sofa with a shocked expression; her two hands were tightly twisting together. If she remembered correctly, after taking that deadly potion, the first symptom was a splitting headache!

No! It couldn’t be! Tingting’s symptoms could never be what she was imagining; it was absolutely impossible!

Lu Na kept convincing herself of this, and finally came back to her senses at the sound of He Xiaochen’s call, she stood up with an ugly expression, and jogged outside with weak steps.

After boarding the airship, He Tingting’s condition became even worse, and if it wasn’t for Lu Na holding her by her side, she might have rolled around in the airship in pain.

Lu Na cried helplessly after seeing He Tingting’s pain filled appearance, she was shocked and scared, she could only try to soothe her: “Tingting good girl, bear with it, you’ll be fine, surely nothing will happen ……”.

However, in terms of He Tingting’s current situation, anyone could see how bad her situation was.
