C30.2 — [The Secret Of Dark Beach]

The audience, who were still mocking Zhuo Yu as a white boy and Dong Yao as a powerhouse, were instantly stunned by this turn of events. As they said, this movie turned Zhuo Yu’s character into a “bride,”  while the powerhouse was actually pursuing him.

It was kind of like asking for a favor and getting a punishment.

Once the audience accepted this setup, they actually felt excited from it, like they had found a rare pleasure.

Nine-footed Viper was worthy of being an expert at playing with people’s hearts, and he was on the verge of talking Dream Viper down in the gap between having his head sliced off.

“Neither you nor I are the powerful type that only relies on control in order to ki-ll humans; if you can ki-ll me now, can you still ki-ll the Still Viper and Past Life Viper, those two guys who have transcended life and death?”

Dong Yao’s hand holding the scythe lurched.

“Why don’t you and I join forces and ki-ll them first, and when we get to the very top, we’ll have a fair duel; it’ll be beneficial to both you and me, and since your body is so strong, it’s you who has a better chance of winning.”

Dream Viper surprisingly felt that he had a point: “Then why are you going to work for me if you have no benefits?”

“I just want to take a chance; that is the bride I have waited for 130,000 years; even if there is only one chance, I am satisfied.”

Dream Viper was persuaded.

Because this Viper’s words were right, he could still ki-ll with Dong Yao’s body, but it would soon be useless, so he might as well join forces with him.

Zhuo Yu, who was hanging from the ceiling, was able to see it clearly.

This cunning Viper had actually wrapped its tail around behind the other party when Dong Yao hesitated.

He didn’t want this good show to end like this.

[Beastheart’s hand, “Split the Difference,” is activated.]

[NPC Nine Footed Viper has been hit.]

“I don’t like snakes that don’t have any balls.” Zhuo Yu tapped his cheek with his finger. “If you can’t even overcome this difficulty, what makes you my mate? If it’s sincere, use bloo-d as a gift to me.”

Nine Footed Viper looked towards the ceiling in shock. Didn’t the bride just need to reach out his hand when their fight was over and only the last one was left?

Dong Yao laughed a few times. “That’s right, don’t blame me for not being polite!”

On the other side, Long Ran, who was suffering from his body’s mutation, was filled with rage as he searched for the passageway to the third floor; he had already seen the umbrella rope on the ground, and even more so, he had smelled Zhuo Yu’s scent.

He barged in and found chopped-up pieces of snake meat all over the place, huge snake heads rolling everywhere, and the huge body of the Nine Footed Viper was completely decapitated under Dong Yao’s final slash.

And Zhuo Yu was in the other party’s arms, like he was about to make a choice.

Long Ran’s eyes were crimson as he lifted his axe and hacked towards Dong Yao; he had completely lost the calmness he was so proud of; all he wanted to do now was chop this damned snake into pieces.

He finally came!

Zhuo Yu was about to laugh in his heart when he heard the footsteps.

As long as Long Ran could come, he would have a way to get Dream Viper out of Dong Yao’s body. Having already seen how powerful Dong Yao was, he couldn’t let Dong Yao die for no reason; this was a powerful combatant, very valuable to utilize.

And once he was able to befriend it, it would be of great help to him in building his union.

Dong Yao was too engrossed in his bride; he failed to sense the presence of his enemy in time; he couldn’t avoid it; he could only bring up his scythe to resist the axe’s attack.

With a loud bang, the blade of the scythe was directly chopped off at an angle by the axe, and Dong Yao was crushed by this amazingly huge force, half kneeling on the ground, his knees emitting the creaking sound of being overburdened.

Long Ran wouldn’t let him go again; he raised the axe and used even more force to chop, and the Dream Viper that possessed Dong Yao’s body was scared out of its wits and hurriedly wrapped its chains around the axe body.

With a crack, the chains were chopped off by Long Ran.

Dream Viper was alarmed.

Long Ran had sworn to give up its identity and followed the humans out of the tower, but because of its memory loss, it had become curious about its own identity and had returned here as if it were destined to do so.

Too bad, he knew that Long Ran couldn’t escape the plan of the “Great Being.”  They were born for the purpose of bonding, and even if Long Ran resisted this matter, it would eventually return to the altar every five hundred years due to fate.

Dream Viper remembered that this was the 260th time of sacrifice and the 260th time he had seen Long Ran’s face, but this time was different from usual.

In the past, Long Ran only wanted to find his memories and wouldn’t interfere with the life and death of its teammates. But now, why did it look like he wanted to kill him? Wasn’t marrying the bride the fate that he most resisted?

Dream Viper understood.

This time the bride had survived the storm and the snakes and was the rightful successor recognized by the Mount Ming Pagoda, and not even Long Ran could resist the attraction of the bloodline.

And now he was starting to recover.

Dream Viper clenched his back teeth; now that it had come to this, he wouldn’t give up easily or admit defeat to Long Ran.

However, strength proved everything.

Long Ran kicked Dong Yao’s body off and smashed it hard against the brick wall, and with a single flick of his long tail, he yanked on the chains of the Flying Scythe and snatched the weapon away from Dong Yao’s hands.

Just as he was about to deliver a painful blow, Zhuo Yu moved.

Zhuo Yu finally found this perfect, two-handed moment for Dong Yao.

He fiercely lunged towards Dong Yao, interlocking his hands with the other party’s index fingers, and then slammed his head against the rock wall, actually knocking him out.

Long Ran froze as he instantly realized what Zhuo Yu was trying to do.

This was because his body saw the pattern on the rock wall of the second layer at the time of the mutation.

The second layer wasn’t empty at all, but covered with huge epic murals; it wasn’t formed by paint, but the heat of each piece of that brick had a subtle difference, and it was only by using the snake’s heat sense perception that he was able to see what was painted on it.

In the frescoes, there were detailed drawings of human sacrifices, the descent of the evil god, and a section describing how to enter the same dream as a human, which was the only way to ki-ll a dream viper.

The only way to ki-ll a dream viper was to hold hands and fall asleep together, then share a dream.

Zhuo Yu, as expected, entered Dong Yao’s dream.

Dong Yao was lying on his bed playing a game, and the sound of his friend’s shouting and cursing kept coming from his laptop.

“Hard straight, hard straight, oh big sword brother, hurry up! I’ve been ki-lled by the black dragon again; I can’t play this game anymore.”

Dong Yao put down the handle and said in boredom, “Rookie.”

He ended the game, looking out the window at the blue sky with a lollipop in his mouth, feeling as if his recent days had been too uneventful.

His mom was healthy and energetic; she made many dishes every day and went square dancing at night when she had nothing else to do. This kind of boring routine was what Dong Yao craved the most.

And with all the debts owed by his family paid off, he didn’t have to go back to work, and he could play games every night like a normal kid before being rushed out to dinner by his mom with his ear in her hand.

It couldn’t be more perfect for a fifteen-year-old teenager.

Since this was the case, it was time for him to study hard and not let his mom worry.

Dong Yao closed his notebook, took out his English book from the drawer, and began to stumble through his vocabulary memorization while his mother was cooking dinner in the kitchen. This family of two was cozy and warm.

But there was someone who had come specifically to ruin this atmosphere.

The doorbell rang, and Dong Yao shuffled his slippers to open the door, realizing that the person outside, whom he had not seen before but looked very familiar, was a good-looking male youth.

The man was on the ground, not looking like he was injured.

Dong Yao looked at him suspiciously.

“I’m your mother’s friend; I came to see her.” Zhuo Yu smiled at Dong Yao; he knew that this child had already forgotten all about the Mount Ming Pagoda.

Mother Dong wiped her hands and rushed out from the kitchen as well. When she saw Zhuo Yu, there was a moment of unnaturalness, but she quickly put on a smile, and that smile was genuinely affectionate.

Only then did Dong Yao drop his guard.

“We haven’t seen each other for a long time, right?” Zhuo Yu stretched out his hand at Mother Dong, “Help me up.”

“Yes ……,” She attentively assisted the youth up and instructed Dong Yao, “Go bring the guest room’s wheelchair.”

A wheelchair? When did the family have a wheelchair?

Dong Yao scratched his head, but he really found it in the guest room. He helped his mother place Zhuo Yu on it and asked, “You guys know each other?”

“Of course, we’ve known each other for a long time.” Zhuo Yu smiled.

Dong Yao frowned deeply. How come he hadn’t heard of him? But it was understandable; his father had died more than ten years ago, and he didn’t have a problem with his mother finding another one.

It was just that this stepfather seemed to be disabled; he wouldn’t have to take care of this person in the future, right?

He looked quite young, and the age difference between them couldn’t be too big, so he couldn’t call him uncle.

Dong Yao’s heart was in a battle of heaven and earth.

Mother Dong, whose gaze had been glued to Zhuo Yu, also replied, “Yes, this is my closest person…”

With that, she wanted to go up and stroke Zhuo Yu’s face.

“Don’t move.” Zhuo Yu pinched Mother Dong’s wrist with such force that her skin turned white. “You’re not the last survivor yet.”

“What are you doing? Let go!” Dong Yao tried to dislodge Zhuo Yu, but before he could touch him, Mother Dong reacted with vehemence as she stopped him.

“What’s your attitude? Is there any way you can treat a guest like this?” Mother Dong’s face instantly coalesced with hostility, but soon asked Zhuo Yu gently, “This kid is clumsy; he didn’t hurt you, did he?”

Dong Yao: “……??”

“You’re not afraid of death?” Zhuo Yu narrowed his eyes. “But I’ve entered your realm and am able to touch your essence.”

Mother Dong grunted and laughed, the female voice suddenly eerie and unpredictable, becoming hoarse and low, with a slight hiss.

“No, you might as well say you’ve come at the right time.”

Her face gradually disintegrated; the skin of her face was like a snake molt that was being peeled off, revealing a little bit of her true appearance inside, not caring about the dumbstruck Dong Yao.

That face was Long Ran!

“You like his looks, don’t you? In the dream I can become anything you want.” Dream Viper sold himself vigorously with Long Ran’s face, “Not just looks; anything you need, I can fulfill it.”

It turned out that Long Ran smiled like this.

Zhuo Yu thought to himself, he was really quite good looking; it was just that he didn’t have any attraction to him; after all, he wasn’t the real one.

“I don’t want this; can you become taller and stronger?” Zhuo Yu pinched his chin. “Well, red hair, looks like Captain America, more than two meters; the other half of the side of the face is a skeleton; if you think that the difficulty of changing your face is too high, I have a mask here; you can wear it.”

Dream Viper’s smile frozen.

How come his bride had actually started making demands? Why was it inexplicably upsetting?

“I thought you said you could? Change it for me, I miss him.” Zhuo Yu’s tone was actually still serious!

Green veins popped up on Dream Viper’s head. “Forget it. Why don’t we do something serious and bond in the spirit world? What do you think?”

The man tugged on Zhuo Yu’s collar to pull the man closer, ambiguously murmuring in his ear, “Trust me, I’m much better than Long Ran.”

Dong Yao, who had his three views turned upside down at the side, finally came back to his senses.

This was too much for a fifteen-year-old kid!

First, it was suspected that his mom’s young lover knocked on the door, then his mom angrily rebuked him for his young lover, and then his mom changed not only her gender but even her species!

It was a dream, wasn’t it? This dream was fooling him!

“Don’t get in the way!” Dream Viper waved his hand and turned the living room into a cage, trapping Dong Yao inside. “If you obstruct me and my bride, you’ll die in your own dreams.”

Zhuo Yu didn’t expect this guy to be so thick-skinned; Dong Yao was still watching!

Dream Viper looked like he could see what Zhuo Yu was thinking; he didn’t care. “It’s his honor to witness this great ceremony.”

Zhuo Yu: “……” I think you’re really looking for death.

“Don’t waste your efforts; your weapons can’t be brought in.” Dream Viper gritted his teeth, “Do you like Long Ran that much? That guy abandoned his mission, and even more so, he abandoned being a bonded… person.”

“Look at my eyes.” Zhuo Yu suddenly spoke out.

Dream Viper subconsciously looked at Zhuo Yu, and all of a sudden, he froze as he crashed into the other party’s dark and heavy line of sight.

Zhuo Yu came to the front of the cage.

“I can only delay him for about two minutes; whether or not you can wake up depends on yourself.” Zhuo Yu solemnly rushed at Dong Yao. “I know you’re very confused right now, but please think about it. Is your most important person like this?”

Dong Yao’s mind was shaken.

Indeed, it was wrong from the start…

“Since Dream Viper can turn into your mother, it means that you must love her very much. Do you really want to abandon that real person for the sake of an illusory dream?” Zhuo Yu didn’t give him a chance to retort and pressed on with his sentence, “If you just indulge in false happiness, then you don’t deserve to be a Battle Team Leader; not only have you failed your teammates, you’ve failed your mother, but you’ve also failed yourself, who loves your mother dearly!”

“I… ” Dong Yao had a sharp pain in his head.

He remembered, his battle team was created by himself, his mother was lying in intensive care in reality, and he himself—he himself shouldn’t reside in this movie—still had his mission that he hadn’t accomplished.

He has to save all the flame points, bring the props off the set, and cure his mother.

He was going to lead the team to the top and uncover the secrets of the management.

He had to…

The cozy room began to crumble; those old haunted dreams were withdrawing; the tables, chairs, curtains, and even a small goldfish tank raised by his mother that were imprinted in Dong Yao’s memories—all of them faded away in his wakefulness.

The power of the dream world was weakening, and the Dream Viper had finally lost its greatest support. He could no longer maintain his appearance as Long Ran, and his body continued to shrink, and soon he turned from a human into a striped snake that was red, white, and black, and “fell” to the ground.

Dream Viper got rid of Zhuo Yu’s mental control but fell into a more embarrassing situation.

Zhuo Yu picked up the small snake with one hand and shook it around; a smile that made the snake fearful appeared on his face.

“Yo, so small yet you still dare to provoke Long Ran? Where are you better than him?”

The dream viper hissed in fear; this was the first time it had been pulled out of the dream world, and the thin little snake body kept twisting, wanting to detach itself from Zhuo Yu’s hand.

Zhuo Yu pinched its seven inches and toyed with the little snake like tugging on a gummy candy, saying sorrowfully, “I’ll give you a chance; come be my pet.”

The little snake hissed angrily in protest.

“I don’t think you have any other choice; if you don’t agree, you will end up being trampled to death by my foot.” Zhuo Yu stared at Dream Viper’s small vertical pupils with his own deep black eyes. “You know I’m not joking.”

Unfortunately, Dream Viper was just a small snake; it didn’t have sweat glands, but right now, this terrifying bride was also enough to scare it to the point of its scales trembling.

It nodded repeatedly and curled up obediently on Zhuo Yu’s wrist, acting as a soulless trinket; all it wanted to do now was play dead!

Zhuo Yu shook his wrist and looked at the newly harvested small snake bracelet, poking the snake skin with his index finger.

The Dream Viper wrapped itself tighter.

Dong Yao, who had detached himself from the cage, had a complicated gaze; there was gratitude in his eyes, as well as admiration, which ultimately turned into the words, “I owe you one.”

If Zhuo Yu hadn’t broken into his dream and woken him up, he might have really slept in a false dream forever, forgetting that there was still a mother waiting for her rescue in the hospital bed; Zhuo Yu had saved the lives of two people.

“There’s no need to say whether you owe or not.” Zhuo Yu shrugged his shoulders; he saw that his hand card “Take Trust” could be used again, but he didn’t do so.

“I, Dong Yao, will not owe anyone anything.”

“If you really want to repay me…” Zhuo Yu pulled the corner of his mouth and helplessly said, “Just don’t let Long Ran eat me.”

He could already imagine how angry Long Ran was outside the dream world.

Amidst the ground of broken pieces of blood and flesh, Zhuo Yu and Dong Yao’s bodies moved, and Long Ran, who looked like a stone statue and stood silently to the side, finally exhaled heavy breaths as he carried Zhuo Yu out of Dong Yao’s arms, remembering his sharp claws and inhuman appearance again.

He actually didn’t dare to let himself get close to the other party again.

Long Ran could only desperately restrain his anger. The eyes of a human and the vertical pupils of a snake were both red, almost dripping with blood. The madness inside was too intense, and he was afraid it would hurt him.

The first thing Zhuo Yu saw when he came to his senses was Long Ran’s suppressed gaze.

Oh no, it seemed he had been too provocative.

He wouldn’t really want to eat him, right?
