C95 – Princess on the Run

“Strive to finish shooting by two o’clock and go back early to rest.”

Just after twelve o’clock, the crew prepared some late-night snacks. After finishing, they rested for ten minutes, then the director took a loudspeaker and began to encourage the staff to continue.

“Come on, come on.”

Lu Wenxing held the script and blocked half of his face, secretly yawning. “Is there any coffee?”

Chen Che handed Lu Wenxing a cup of water and said, “We’ll get off the set after this scene; if you drink coffee now, you won’t be able to sleep when you go back to the hotel.”

Lu Wenxing was a little tired from sitting, so he stretched his body and stood up from the chair. Preparing to start filming, Lu Wenxing took off the jacket he was wearing, and the staff came over to help Lu Wenxing straighten his qipao.

“Ready.”

“Ready.” The director shouted twice with a loudspeaker.

Lu Wenxing took the red wine glass from the props team, and after the field recorders hit the board, he stepped on his high heels and walked towards the suited man sitting on the sofa chair.

He couldn’t be too deliberate, but he also had to attract attention.

“Hey.”

The waiter walked over with a glass of wine and collided with the oncoming Zhou Yun.

“Sorry, sorry.” The waiter panicked; the red wine spilled on Zhou Yun’s collar, staining it with light marks. “Miss, I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to.”

Zhou Yun frowned, pretending to be coquettish. “Why don’t you look at the road when you walk?”

“I’m really sorry.” The waiter apologized once again, and Zhou Yun waved his hand in annoyance, indicating that he should get lost. The waiter looked down at the small handbag that fell to the ground and bent down to pick it up.

“Don’t touch it.” Zhou Yun’s tone was tinged with disgust as he squatted down to pick up the handbag.

The man sitting behind him had already been attracted by the playful voice long ago, and his gaze turned to Zhou Yun.

“Stop.” The director got up and walked over. “Yuan Zhen, your eyes are not right.”

“Ah?”

“Don’t immediately turn back to look at Zhou Yun. When he picks up something, your gaze needs to seem casual. Don’t look at his face; just glance at his chest and slightly tilt your head. At this point, you are already attracted by his beautiful figure.”

“Firstly, you’re a young lord, and many of the women in the room will want to come and hit on you. So you can’t just go on your own accord; you have to have a bit of hesitation, sneaky with a touch of blatancy.”

The director thought for a moment: “Change this part slightly.”

“One intentionally hooks up, and one unintentionally responds to the other’s hookup.” The director walked up a few steps and gave them a demonstration. “Yuan Zhen, continue sitting. Xingxing, just watch.”

The director twisted his waist and walked over to demonstrate to Lu Wenxing.

“When you walk to this place, twist your foot on purpose, then pretend to be unsteady and fall into his arms.”

The director sat on Yuan Zhen’s lap and said, “Like this, you two have to stare at each other; Zhou Yun has to seduce him with his eyes.”

“Yuan Zhen, you should remain calm and act like a gentleman.” The director took Yuan Zhen’s hand and said, “Your hand is supporting Zhou Yun’s waist; it seems like you are helping him, but you’re secretly taking advantage of him.”

Lu Wenxing nodded. “Then I’ll sit on his lap and touch his pocket.”

This scene was Zhou Yun trying to take something from Yuan Zhen’s pocket.

They started again.

Lu Wenxing tripped and fell on Yuan Zhen’s lap.

“Miss, are you okay?”

“My feet hurt a bit; I can’t stand up.” Zhou Yun looked at him with pleading eyes.

“It’s okay, I’ll hold you up.” The young master acted like a gentleman and held Zhou Yun’s waist.

Zhou Yun looked a little shy; his eyes looked straight at him, then his eyes flickered in a way that made the man’s throat tighten.

The camera shot down, and Zhou Yun’s fingers gently grazed the man’s pockets, but before he could reach inside…

“Young master.”

A subordinate walked over, and Zhou Yun immediately withdrew his hand.

“This is ……”

The subordinate stared at Zhou Yun for a moment. Zhou Yun lowered his eyes and stood up while holding the man’s shoulder. “I’m so sorry; my feet were weak just now. Thank you, young master, for helping me.”

“No need to be polite.”

“Have we met somewhere before?” The subordinate frowned and said, “I feel that you look a little familiar.”

Zhou Yun smiled bashfully. “You probably have the wrong person; I don’t know you.”

The subordinate was half believing and half doubting, and then the young master sneered. “Xiao Xiao, your composure isn’t good. You can’t even think straight when you see a woman.”

“Young Master, don’t make fun of me; I really think she looks familiar.”

“I’ve heard a lot of this pick-up line.”

Zhou Yun arranged the strands of hair on his ear and winked at him. “Men are all the same; they love to say deceitful things when they see a pretty girl.”

“I’m not ……”

Before the subordinate could finish his words, Lu Zhuo walked over with a cold expression, clasping Zhou Yun’s wrist and pulling him behind.

“Sticking to someone else after not seeing your partner for a while—what a promiscuous action.”

Harsh words were spoken, but his move was obviously in defense of him.

“Marshal Lu, this is…” The young master was stunned for a few seconds and suddenly smiled. “So it’s Marshal Lu’s person; then you have good vision; the young lady is beautiful and has a good figure; the men in the dance floor are all staring straight at her.”

“That’s not something Young Master Bai needs to bother about.” Lu Zhuo tightly clasped Zhou Yun’s hand and pulled him aside.

“What do you want again?”

Zhou Yun was half nervous about being caught in the act; he took a glass of wine from a passing waiter and took a fine sip before speaking.

“Marshal Lu doesn’t want me, so I naturally have to find another way out.”

Lu Zhuo frowned fiercely. “So you’re throwing yourself all over the banquet hall?”

Zhou Yun blinked. “What’s wrong with that?”

“Why is Marshal Lu here with the little beauty? Our boss is calling for Marshal Lu to go over.” The man lifted his chin and gestured for Lu Zhuo to look over.

The several tables in front of the dance floor were all occupied by people from the headquarters.

“I’ll be over there in a bit.”

“Alright, I won’t bother you guys then.”

As soon as the man left, Lu Zhuo’s eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a dangerous gaze: “Don’t mess around.”

Lu Zhuo walked a little further away and instructed his subordinates, “Keep an eye on him and go check on the Bai Family’s young master.”

“You suspect him…”

Lu Zhuo turned around with a cold expression.

“Check everyone who had contact with Zhou Yun tonight, including the waiter who bumped into him just now.”

Lu Zhuo didn’t know which one was the connector, but anyone who had contact with Zhou Yun was suspicious.

Gu Yanshen was still acting, while Lu Wenxing had already withdrawn to the monitor area and moved a small chair to sit next to the director.

“Director Wang, is the next scene set up yet?”

“When Yanshen finishes this scene, go to the room upstairs; the props team is already setting up.”

“Then I’ll go up and take a look.”

……

The room being set up was Lu Zhuo’s bedroom in the drama.

In fact, he didn’t drink much; he was a little drunk, but his consciousness and sanity were both there. It was just that when he came out, Zhou Yun acted overly attentive, helping him and opening the car door for him, so he was curious about what Zhou Yun was up to.

Back at Lu Zhuo’s house, Zhou Yun took the opportunity to dismiss the people serving him.

The director wandered around the room, taking the script and giving the two of them a breakdown of the scene.

The filming officially started with only the cameraman and the director present.

“Eh, you’re so heavy.”

Zhou Yun carried Lu Zhuo, and the two stumbled into the room. Zhou Yun shoved him onto the bed. When he was brought back by Lu Zhuo, he seduced him several times to clear his suspicion.

One reason was to make Lu Zhuo think that he was just a bed-climbing actor, and when Lu Zhuo got tired of him, he would drive him away.

But now the secret he heard tonight was related to Lu Zhuo; he was now living in Lu Zhuo’s house, so some things could be heard directly from Lu Zhuo.

Not only could he not leave, he had to find a way to stay.

Zhou Yun stared at Lu Zhuo for a few seconds and quickly made up a plan. He climbed onto the bed, knelt on the side of Lu Zhuo’s waist, and leaned down to undo his tie.

He was still wearing a qipao, and the kneeling position exposed his skin-white thighs, and he could feel the temperature of his skin through his clothes.

He was pretending to be drunk, so Lu Zhuo resisted the urge to throw the person off his body. He decided that Zhou Yun wasn’t simple as he acted; he definitely wasn’t just an actor who desperately wanted to seduce someone with power, so he let the person on his body do whatever he wanted to do, accompanying Zhou Yun to continue to act.

Zhou Yun suddenly leaned over, his ear pressed against his chest.

“Your heart is beating so fast; it seems you’re very drunk.”

Lu Zhuo’s fast heartbeat wasn’t due to being drunk, but because he was angry. He pretended to open his eyes in a daze and raised his hand to push Zhou Yun, but in return, Zhou Yun held his hand and kissed it lightly.

“Baby, don’t move.”

Lu Zhuo felt as if his body were being electrocuted. Subconsciously, he withdrew his hand, and Zhou Yun’s breath rubbed against his ear. He opened his collar and casually took off his coat.

To his surprise, Zhou Yun didn’t stop and started to take off his shirt.

But Lu Zhuo didn’t cooperate and deliberately moved around, causing Zhou Yun to struggle and eventually lose his patience; he tore off his shirt.

Enduring until it was time to unbuckle his belt, Lu Zhuo couldn’t bear it anymore; he pretended to want to drink water and lifted Zhou Yun off of him.

“I want to drink water.”

“Fine, fine, don’t move. I’ll go get you some water.” Zhou Yun coaxed him, and he really turned to leave.

Lu Zhuo waited for a while, and after hearing the sound of the door opening, he climbed up from the bed. He hadn’t figured out how to react and even doubted his own judgment in this moment.

Could it be that Zhou Yun was really just an opera singer?

Zhou Yun was a man; even if he was acting, he couldn’t do it to this extent.

But…

Zhou Yun’s actions tonight were too big, like he was deliberately acting like that. Perhaps he knew that he was suspicious of him, and that was why he flew around like a butterfly at the banquet, which was clearly an attempt to confuse him.

There was definitely someone he talked with at the banquet, right among those he came into contact with.

Lu Zhuo decided to hold back a little longer.

Zhou Yun came in with a glass of water. Lu Zhuo glanced at it. The bottom of the glass was a bit cloudy; it should have been poisoned.

Poisoning?

Lu Zhuo took a sip without actually drinking; while pretending to be extremely drunk, he spilled the content in the glass.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but push Lu Zhuo, who was sitting at the head of the bed, down with his elbow pressed against his neck, his tone a bit aggressive.

“People get drunk and fall asleep; why are you so active?”

Bang bang bang.

The knock on the door sounded.

“What’s wrong? Did you break something?”

Not hearing a response, the person outside the house added.

“Marshal, I’m coming in.”

Zhou Yun loosened his grip, ripped off his clothes, ruffled his hair, and rolled into Lu Zhuo’s arms.

The moment the door was pushed in, Lu Zhuo’s hand was forcefully pulled by Zhou Yun to unbutton his qipao, and his other hand was pressed down on Zhou Yun’s thigh.

“Aiya! Be gentle; you’re hurting me.”

It looked as if Lu Zhuo was drunk and disorderly and was doing something indescribable to Zhou Yun.

“Sorry to bother you.”

The subordinate’s voice was choked for a split second before he retreated again, and the sound of the door closing came.

“Right on time.”

The corners of Zhou Yun’s mouth hooked up into a smile. “Now there is evidence. You can’t roll out of bed tomorrow and refuse to acknowledge me.”

As soon as the man left, Zhou Yun shook off Lu Zhuo’s hand.

After resting for a while, the main event hadn’t been forgotten.

Zhou Yun, as a man, couldn’t really have anything to do with Lu Zhuo, but he had to make Lu Zhuo think that something had happened between the two of them.

He went to unbuckle Lu Zhuo’s belt again; this time there was little resistance, as Lu Zhuo didn’t resist. The two of them rolled under the covers, and the prop trousers prepared in advance were thrown out from under the covers.

The clothes and trousers landed on the ground, and the shooting ended.

“OK, that’s it for today; everyone has worked hard.”

Lu Wenxing lifted the covers, sat on the bed, and yawned. “Director Wang, I’ll sleep here tonight.”

“It’s so painful to get up every day.” Lu Wenxing said this and yawned again.

This scene was between Lu Wenxing and Gu Yanshen, and the other artists had already gone back to rest first. Lu Wenxing touched the soft bed and felt like he could fall asleep with his eyes open.

Gu Yanshen put on his coat, and after taking the coat from his assistant’s hands and draping them over Lu Wenxing as well, he carried him off the bed.

“Remove your make-up and go back to the hotel to rest.”

“I’ll remove it when I go back to the hotel and take a shower.”

“Thank you for your hard work. Arrive at nine tomorrow, so we’ll continue with the morning scenes.”

“It’s windy outside; wear a scarf.”

Gu Yanshen wrapped Lu Wenxing tightly, and the two of them held hands as they walked out.

Morning.

The sound of the little rooster crowing rang out again. After a month, Gu Yanshen had become accustomed to it. But the person who set the alarm clock didn’t wake up; only he diligently went to catch the annoying little rooster every day.

Last night, he filmed a night scene until after 1 a.m., but Gu Yanshen didn’t care what time he went to bed; as long as he was working, he could wake up on time. Lu Wenxing couldn’t do it. He was pulled up from bed by Gu Yanshen, and his posture screamed ‘resistance’.

After sitting for less than a second, his body fell backward. Gu Yanshen was quick to catch him, and his other hand went through the bend of his knee, picking him up horizontally.

Lu Wenxing was so sleepy that he couldn’t lift his eyelids; a toothbrush was shoved into his hand; and Gu Yanshen coaxed him with a soft voice. “Wash up, and I’ll take you to eat something delicious.”

“I don’t want to eat.”

Lu Wenxing’s entire body was nestled in Gu Yanshen’s arms; he only wanted to sleep.

“Breakfast has to be eaten.”

When no one was in charge, Lu Wenxing’s diet was extremely irregular, and he could even skip breakfast in order to sleep a little more. He was exactly the same as Xie Chengfei, but he didn’t know who learned from whom.

But as long as the two brothers were in B City, there was no way Lu Xiaofei would let them sleep like this. They had to get up by eight o’clock and eat breakfast before eight thirty. They could go back to sleep after eating, but they couldn’t skip it.

Lu Wenxing still had some scenes to shoot during the day. So to him, the time it took to eat breakfast, he could use it sleep for an extra ten minutes, so it wasn’t cost-effective for him.

Skipping breakfast was bad for the stomach, and during the month or so of filming on the set, Gu Yanshen strictly supervised Lu Wenxing’s diet.

“Finish eating early, and you can still sleep in the car.”

Gu Yanshen liked coaxing Lu Wenxing like this; only in this half-asleep state would Lu Wenxing be so soft.

Lu Wenxing yawned and reluctantly brushed his teeth and washed his face.

Gu Yanshen crossed his arms and leaned against the door, just looking at Lu Wenxing. He liked the current life on the crew; when he woke up, the first thing he could see was Lu Wenxing. Moreover, the two were filming on the same set, and their romance had been made public, so sleeping together was also justified.

After breakfast, the two of them entered a car to go to the film set. Lu Wenxing leaned against Gu Yanshen and squinted blearily.

Assistant Chen Che had nothing to do, so he leaned on the passenger seat as he scrolled through Weibo. Seeing the second or so trending search, his gaze sharpened.

#Republican era Sleeping Beauty.

The person in the photo was none other than Lu Wenxing, who was on set yesterday; he was still dressed up in women’s clothes. It should have been taken by a passerby; it wasn’t a particularly high quality picture, but it couldn’t hide Lu Wenxing’s beauty.

He sat on a stool, propped his elbows on the table, and his forehead was against his fingertips as he rested with his eyes closed.

In the released photo, only three-quarters of his face were captured, revealing a delicate appearance. Long and thick eyelashes fell below his eyelids and the tear mole became the focal point; his nose was high and straight, his lips crimson.

It was highly compatible with the hot search title.

[ah ah ah ah ah! Which young lady is this?]

[I got such a critical beauty strike in the morning, I’ve lost it.]

[Saved it, the qipao looks good!]

[The young lady looks good!]

[This is a princess on the run in the Republican era, right?]

[So elegant!]

[My sister looks so tall; I can do with a sister like this.]

[This is the most beautiful sleeping beauty I’ve ever seen.]

[I declare myself a fan of this young lady’s face.]

[It’s been so long; why hasn’t anyone found out which artist she is? Begging for her Weibo page.]

[This face looks really impressive; to put it bluntly, it has crushed many female stars in the entertainment industry.]

[I think she looks familiar.]

[Is she not a newcomer? It looks like she’s acting in a Republican-era drama.]

[It could be the one that recently started filming, the one that brother Shen and Xingxing is acting in, as well as Song Jiajia.]

[Catch the Republican Sleeping Beauty.]

[Let me know if you’ve got it.]

[I’ll go wipe my nose first.]

[It’s so exciting this morning! Why is there only one picture? Take more!]

Chen Che turned back quietly. Seeing that Lu Wenxing was still resting, he didn’t make a sound to disturb him. Gu Yanshen lifted his chin, gesturing for him to get out of the car and talk about it.

Only after getting to the set did Chen Che take out his phone and show it to Lu Wenxing.

“Xingxing, look.”

The hot search just now had already spawned a new hot search topic.

#Finding Sleeping Beauty across the net.
